Hello from the wind swept prairie! My wife and I are Florida natives. And wouldn't you know it, we didn't catch the Disney bug until we moved away. So in 2025 we bought a resale contract at Copper Creek. Now we are considering a direct contract at either Poly Tower or Disneyland Hotel. I look forward to getting to know everyone and having lively discussions!

Hey guys and welcome to the DVC Fan Forums! It's interesting that you guys decided to buy DVC after you moved away. Being in North Dakota you are right in the middle of both disney's. I think you guys would be smart to buy that Disneyland Hotel contract so you can spend time at both parks.

So this is what I'm considering right now:

-150 direct at Poly Tower

-Sell Copper Creek, don't need 2 MK area home resorts

-100 resale at Disneyland Hotel

-75 resale at Boardwalk

It's all contingent on how much we like the Island Tower when we visit in June, and how much I like Disneyland in January. Neither of us has visited Anaheim.

I just need to give a hello to maybe the only other people in ND who own DVC (kidding, kinda). I'm from the St. Louis, MO area originally, but landed in ND in 2007. Every time I've done a runDisney race, there has been some kind of announcement "and we actually have participants from all 50 states! We usually don't get North Dakota!" haha

My husband and I own at Animal Kingdom Villas, and we hold @DVCDerek responsible for lots of things, in general.

I also agree with @starsaber25 being between Disneyland and WDW, it takes equally as long to get to either. Honestly, this is the only reason we don't go more and aren't living aboard a DCL ship at this point. (However my oldest 2 sons are seriously considering applying to work for DCL)

Oh super cool! We're in Minot. We moved here in 2014. We've come to love it. And as much as we love Disney, when we get back to ND, we always take a deep breath and enjoy the slower pace here.

How do you enjoy owning at AKV? I've got an idea percolating to maybe take two of my girls (currently 5 and 6 years old) to AKV next year. My wife and I have never visited AK, so it'll be new territory for me.

This past winter I came to the same realization: we're basically equally distant from both parks. We've always gone to Orlando because we both grew up 2 hours from there. It's what we've known. But Anaheim might have a slight edge, in that you can leave ND at breakfast time and land in CA at lunch time. No more rushing to make a dinner reservation at Disney Springs!

But I'm with you. The travel prevents us from visiting more. I sure wish the Allegiant flight to Sanford from either Minot or Bismarck would resume. That was a game changer for a short period of time.
