Hello from Jacksonville, Florida!

Hi everyone. I’m so happy to have a place to share info and more importantly find information about all things DVC. My husband and I live in Jacksonville, Florida, about 2.5 hours from HOME! I’m originally a West Virginia girl who came to Jacksonville right after college to avoid the cold weather.
We are DVC members, who have owned at SSR since 2008! We get to WDW 3-4 times each year for a few days at a time.
Last year we made our first trip to Disneyland, staying at the Disneyland hotel. We were engaged in Disney World, so Disneyland made a memorable trip to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. Our granddaughter and her husband went with us. The picture is from Oogie Boogie Bash!
My husband and I both use ECV’s in the parks and bring them with us or rent them throughout our stays. So I’m always on the hunt for the best rooms to accommodate for the ECV’s. DVC descriptions of accessible rooms is very poor in my opinion. They have all kinds of different categories, but if you closely compare them, many sound the same! My master’s degree is in rehabilitation counseling (focusing on findings jobs for people with disabilities). Between that and my own limitations, I know a couple things about accessibility. So , I’m always interested in learning more on the issue.
So far, we’ve managed to stay at most DVC locations, but still have Aulani, Grand Cal, Grand Flo, and the Fort Wilderness Cabins to go.
Excited to hear from and learn more from this group!
Such lovely, fun pictures!
