I think if you want a WDW contract and like Polynesian at least as much as the other WDW locations, it's the very best choice for direct. I love the Field Guide and really think its a no brainer purchase for new members. It isn’t expensive and has tons of good info. A few years in you may not need it so often, but I still refer to mine.

I love Beach Club; it's so relaxing. My only true complaint is the bathroom layout in the larger villas. I've thought about consolidating my points at fewer resorts, but I know I would miss Beach Club too much.

Almost anywhere is better than where I live in January and February, so I am not too picky.

My only contract where I stayed before buying is Polynesian; I also toured there before purchase. I’d stayed at Beach Club’s hotel as well prior to purchasing. Bought VDH sight unseen, though I did stay at Disneyland Hotel in the early 90s one time.
