From what I've learned from talking to member services, the waitlist mechanism does not automatically book or hold rooms at the exact time that a cancellation occurs. Instead, at some unknown interval once each day, some code on their end goes across all the available nights for all the resorts at the same time and ass
Our typical stay is at a riviera resort view deluxe studio during January. We'd usually have to walk a reservation to do that booking even though it isnt a super low inventory room type just because nights would become booked up the morning they open and then release later in the week as people roll their reservations.
