2 days for Disneyland and 1 for DCA is good. DL has far more rides than DCA. Depending on when you're there, DL has 2 nighttime shows, fireworks and Fantasmic, while DCA only has World of Color. Park hopping is better - it really is just a hop between the two. That way if rides you want to do break down you can do them
I have a trip planned the week of 9/6 so I'm definitely going. I love the Halloween party.
For Mickey & Minnie Railroad, there's also a difference near the end. When Goofy rejoins the train, he's telling the tail end of a story, and the lines vary. For instance, he'll say "and that's why I wear pants and Pluto doesn't".
I'll be checking into Kidani Village on May 2 for 8 nights. First meal on the 2nd will be dinner at Boma. Final meal on the 10th (Mother's Day) will be late breakfast at Boma. This will be my 5th time staying at Kidani. I just love waking up to see animals from my room. Boma is my favorite WDW restaurant.
