I was thinking about the Parks I wanted to be close to when I chose Poly and AKV as my home resorts.

I know, they say 'Buy where you want to stay'. But I took it a step further and 'Bought by the Parks I wanted to be in.'.

When I was shopping around for DVC contracts I kept seeing Youtube videos declaring how wonderful Boardwalk, Beach Club and the new Riviera were, and how they are right there with Epcot, and how Epcot was just the BEST park, with great nightlife and concerts, and food and how it was just a short walk or skyline ride away. Even now, I see Disney DVC is still selling Riviera.

But for me Epcot is the least interesting park to be in or around. While it was originally designed as a hub for creative learning, with great activities throughout the park focused on creativity and learning, most of that is gone now. With some seasonal exceptions like FARTS, it's now where you go to 'drink around the world' or run if you do RunDisney. While it has HUGE capacity, it is now an adult party spot. You can take your kids, and they'll have an okay day with the family, but it's not really for them. It's more adult oriented.

Yes, there are a few rides for young kids like Frozen and Nemo and friends. And they've recently put in an Encanto show outside in the heat. But the best ride I found for my 6 year old grandson at Epcot, is Spaceship Earth. And how old is that? Sure, he has fun (it's still Disney), but it's not as magical as the other parks.

Now compare this to the Monorail Resorts (GF, Poly, BLT) where the Magic really is....I mean the Magic Kingdom Resorts are.

The Magic Kingdom is where you can bring your family and young children to play. You show up with the kids and they can go all day long through rides and attractions without stopping, except for exhaustion. You get to see them grow and mature through experience with the rides and interactions that even Adults can enjoy. If your lucky, you can go enough times throughout their youth that you can watch them progress from It's a Small World through the roller coasters and beyond.

And as amazing as Magic Kingdom is, for those with kids that are into Animals, you have Animal Kingdom Lodge with the Animal Kingdom Park right next door. If you can't buy a Zoo, AKV is the next best thing. And the park itself is going to have Bluey and Kangaroo's soon! My 2-year old Grandbaby is going to have the time of his life at Conservation Station this year.

See ya around the parks!

May I ask how many points you opted for on both of your resale contracts? We are actively looking at both of these resorts.

That is a fun way of deciding where you want to own! I'm with you about Epcot... it's my least favorite park. I mean, I still like it, but as a place to eat the festival foods and go to Guardians. I'm trying to like it more and give it more of a chance on my visit next month. There have been many visits in the past when we didn't go to Epcot at all. My favorite park is Magic Kingdom, and coincidently (or not??) my DVC homes are both in the Magic Kingdom area ๐Ÿฐ
