Hey, all. For those of you who ever order plant-based at Disney World, this is a thread for us to discuss favorites, not-so-favorites, report item swaps, etc.

Very curious to hear from others about their favorites and menu items they'd recommend trying.

One item I really liked a year ago was the Plant-Based Wellington at Steakhouse 71, but in February I thought it was just okay. Anyone else have a take on that? I figure I'll try it again, in case February was a one-off situation, because I really liked it last April. So, for now it isn't on one my lists.

I haven't been quite everywhere yet (okay, there are a lot of places I haven't been, but I'm hoping to rectify that somewhat over the next 3 visits this year), so these lists are very incomplete. In fact, more so than I expected when I first started drawing it up. I am leaving out anything that I thought was just okay or, you know, that I am forgetting about just now, along with the endless fake meat skillets at Garden Grill, Sebastian's Bistro, etc.; I like these items, but the sameness and ubiquity of them really hurts variety. There's only so many Beyond Sausages and the like that I want to eat in one week. I'm also somewhat limited by always dining with an extremely choosy 7 year-old vegan who basically only wants vegan burgers, hot dogs, tenders, and fries, so I've skipped a few venues on multiple occasions that I really want to try, but where I can't get him anything he'll eat.

Favorites

  • Dole Whip! (obviously)

  • Breakfast Scramble with Mushrooms and Spinach at Crystal Palace. The frittata is pretty good, too, but no server has ever known what I was talking about (I had to request the chef); it's on the paper menu at the restaurant and not at the buffet.

  • Chili-Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu Bowl at Satu'li Canteen

  • D-Luxe Plant-Based Burger and fries (all-time favorite fries)

  • Vegetable Breakfast Quesadilla at various value and moderate resorts (totally clutch breakfast item)

  • Onion rings at Steakhouse 71 (not super-special, but less common to find onion rings with a vegan batter)

  • Southern Style Fried “Hen” at Cítricos (a little salty, but I'm here for it)

  • Tofu Power Bowl at Grand Floridian Café (good brunch option whether staying at VGF or PVB)

  • Plant-Based Beignets at Scat Cat's Club

  • Triple Suns Breakfast Wrap at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

Not-So-Favorites

  • Plant-Based Cheese Pizza at Pinocchio Village Haus

  • Impossible Burnt Ends at Flame Tree Barbecue (it's just ground Impossible in an okay sauce; they could do so much better)

  • Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut at multiple locations (I may be in the minority here, or just spoiled by Dun-Well Donuts in Brooklyn and Donut Friend in L.A., but these donuts are mediocre)

  • Cookie Fries with Dipping Sauce at Beaches & Cream (the texture is so off)

What do you think?

Generally agreed on the cinnamon sugar donuts. Except at 1900 Park Fare where I got both that and a vanilla-glazed one.

I don’t particularly like cake donuts, but these were yumlicious. Not as gummy as those often are (g-f/d-f are what I must eat).

The cinnamon sugar donut at ‘Ohana was typically gummy and not very flavorful. Odd, because theirs were much better than PF’s until just yesterday (4/23/26).

While we found the food at Hollywood and Vine decidedly meh overall, the teriyaki crispy tofu was nearly as good as Shiki Sai’s. Astonishing! I sure wouldn’t advise paying $64/adult to go there for that, though, especially since I’m not certain it’s vegan.

Zuchii Wrap at Ronto Roasters. The garlic-tahini sauce may be doing a lot of the heavy lifting on the flavor there.
