Going to Disneyland in September and I am considering staying near the park for one night. Other than the Disney properties, which hotels close to the park would you recommend?

Tom Bricker from DisneyTouristBlog.com ranked 44 Disneyland area hotels in January. Here's the link https://www.disneytouristblog.com/disneyland-anaheim-hotels-reviews-rankings/

#1 is the Tropicana Inn & Suites.

I'e stayed at Element Anaheim Resort convention Center twice now, both short stays and it was good both times. It is a slightly longer walk than some of the other resorts but it is a newer hotel (Built in 2019) and it offers free breakfast, although we tended to leave before breakfast started so we could rope drop the parks (breakfast starts at 7am on weekends, 6:30am on weekdays).

If you want something a little nicer, the JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort and Westin Anaheim Resort are both nicer and I've wanted to stay at the Resident Inn by Marriott at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center which looks nice and gets good reviews.

We always used to stay at the Fairfield Marriot across Harbor Blvd, it was nice. The walk isn't that bad, probably the same as from the Disneyland Hotel to park entrance. Great view of fireworks from the top level walkways. They have themed and adjoining rooms on the upper levels as well. We have friends that have stayed at a few others along Harbor, like the best Western and the Camelot and they all seem to be good.

I think it depends on what is most important to you. Proximity/walking distance? Free breakfast? Doors that open to inside hallways? Etc.

We always use to stay on Harbor. I really like Park Vue because it's right across the street. It's just a regular motel but the proximity to the park entrance was the most important thing for us.

I never stayed there, but I also like the look of the Candy Cane Inn, especially since they have a shuttle to the parks.
