Hi Everyone: My wife and I are thinking about adding golf on our next visit in November. We would appreciate any thoughts from anyone who has golfed at WDW or considered it. I'm a decent golfer, and my wife is a beginner.

We are trying to figure out if it is worth the time involved to get our clubs down, and everything considered. Thanks

My husband (31, golfing for ~4 years) and my dad (55, golfing his whole life) went out for 18 holes on Lake Buena Vista on our check in day this past November. He says the courses are excellent and comfortably challenging, the food at Lake Buena Vista is a great value, and the rentals are high quality and they have plenty, so no need to reserve them ahead of time. They’ll also store your clubs for you if you bring them. He plans on adding it to our trips from now on! Book as far put as you can; it’s a 60-day window.

My husband golfed the Magnolia course and said it was on the harder side, but he enjoyed the challenge. He went ahead and rented clubs there instead of bringing his. He does think using your own makes a difference though because you don't know the potential of an unknown club.

Thanks - I'm leaning towards golfing. With or without my wife! She may enjoy some time at the spa.

Thank you. I would probably ship my clubs down so I can use my own. If I'm going to spend the time and money to golf, I would like to have the best experience, which means with my own clubs.

I’ve played both the Magnolia and LBV courses. LBV is fun and goes around OKW and SSR. Magnolia is definitely a step up in the challenging stakes. There’s great features on both and lots of tee variations so you and your wife could play off tees that could help you both enjoy your games.

DVC members get 15% off the green fees, which is nice. The pro shops are well stocked at both LBV which is at SSR but the main shop is at Magnolia, Palm and Oak Trail which is big! You get a FREE taxi back if youre onsite.

You will be probably be paired up which some like, some don’t.

I played Magnolia this February. They keep the course in good shape. I was going to just book a tee time on my own, but a Facebook group I’m in ended up having a golf outing during our trip, so I got to play with them, which was fun.

I shipped my clubs and they were there before we got to the Poly.

Thanks - was it hard getting a tee time? I'm wondering if I need to jump on it when they open up the tee times.

I went through a group, so I don’t think that it was too difficult. I think that was booked by the group 2-3 months out.
