Legacy resale contract and adding children to the deed

Hi everyone! My family has a question on adding new people (children) to our DVC deed. Since my sister and I are both now in college and will soon be traveling on our own, we all were thinking that it may be a good idea to add ourselves to the contract so we can utilize the membership extras without our parents being present. My parents bought resale at the BWV before the change of needing to buy direct for perks (grandfathered in). Our question is: if we were added, would we still qualify for membership extras? Our only concern is that since we are updating the deed it would result in the loss of our grandfathered status.

My understanding is the contract won't change status and you will both get blue card status.

My in-laws did this a few years ago for us. They added us to the deeds and kept their names on the deeds. It did not affect the status. We are DVC-Y. All of their contracts were purchased direct but I believe if your parents are currently DVC-Y, if they added your names, you would be DVC-Y as well. I believe the only way the grandfathered status would be lost is if they sold contracts and money exchanged hands.
