Posting a GIF

So if you already have an animated GIF on your computer - you can click the image button in the toolbar and then upload the GIF, here is an example:

Another way to insert a GIF is by clicking that same button and then typing in the URL for the GIF. Many image websites have a link to the GIF that you can copy/paste in.

So for example, here is a GIF I found that I want to insert from GIPHY: https://giphy.com/gifs/starwars-star-wars-episode-4-1xo9COytfPE9chS05b

If you drag that image into another browser window, it should display just the image and in the address bar you can then copy and paste that and you can type it in under "Image URL" - and poof - an exploding death star.

I’ve really only used the in iMessage where they auto-fill with #images.

Is giphy considered the best place to find GIFs?

Giphy is one place, it is pretty popular.

Apple iMessage uses Giphy I think too?

You can also Google search for Animated GIFs and find what you need. Easiest way is usually to download it to your phone / laptop and then upload it in a post to the forums.

ooh the GIF library is working, you can now click the GIF button in a post or reply and choose from user uploaded GIF content (must be approved by a mod or admin).

Alright, you need to type something as well as the gif.

That was a bug, should be able to post just a gif now!
