DVC Family from Colorado

I'm a long-time visitor of Disney parks, having grown up in Northern California and having visited Disneyland many times in the 60's & 70's.

My wife and I have been taking our daughters to Disneyland since their first trip in 2000 (they were 6 & 1 at the time), where we stayed in the Paradise Pier hotel with a room overlooking the construction of California Adventure. We finally did our first WDW trip in 2009.

While it took us a long time to finally become DVC members, we first seriously considered it back when the Grand Californian was in pre-sale. Ultimately, we were unwilling to finance what was clearly a luxury purchase (but I'm not going to judge anyone who does!).

We continued to talk about it, but my wife suffers from paralysis by analysis. Finally in 2022, we were planning a WDW trip and I told her that we have the money and have thought about it far too long. We either buy now or we never discuss it again. We bought our first contract at VGF direct on my 61st birthday with the stipulation that DVC could book us for our upcoming trip (we stayed at Boardwalk). In the span of 16 months, we had bought at VDH (on my 62nd birthday) and two resale contracts at AKV.

In 2024 our older daughter got married at Animal Kingdom and made one of the Krieger's very jealous by having Wall-E at their reception.

We've had 5 DVC stays since our purchase in 2022, with 2 planned for this year. The next one will be the first time that it will be just my wife and I.
