@UrsulaWantsYourSoul Fancy seeing you here! I follow you on the DisBoards where we go by RickNJane. We are down the street in Covington Wa. Great to see so many DVC PNW here. Long plane ride makes for a long stay! We did moonlight magic at DLR California Adventure. Was not as good as the one at AK! Next trip is in October for MNSHP.
Cheers and See you around.

Yes, so rainy!!!
What is PNW Mouse Meet? That sounds interesting! We will be on a DCL/WDW trip during D23.
How about you? Are you going?

It’s like a washington based annual Disney-Con run by Don Morin. So not Disney official but fun. He has 3 speakers that range from Imagineers to Artists to Voice Actors. Then lots of Disneyana vendors and an Auction of Disney items that benefits two childrens charities. We just go to the one day.

Ain’t that the truth! I think we are “done” for now. Tee hee. But we have plenty so there’s that.

I think we are done adding on too, but I feel like that may change when they start selling Lakeshore Lodge 😄 The struggle is real lol.
Glad to see fellow Washingtonians here! Snohomish area and with every resale contract we’ve tackled there has been a momentary pause to think…are we nuts to think DVC is a good idea, from here??? Reassuring to find we aren’t alone after all! As for that addonitis thing? It’s real. We can vouch for that!!!
Happy to be home at DVC!

We thought the same thing as well. Long expensive plane ride! That's why we bought enough points for 2 week stays in a 1 bedroom. That way we do not feel rushed and it feels more like a vacation home. Having a kitchen and laundry really helps as well. Dont have to pack as much and you can save a ton by eating in the room . Our trips tend to be relaxed and slower paced and not rushed and stressful like some military campaign. One year we banked and borrowed and spent nearly the whole month of December at OKW. That was back when December was actually off season!
Now that we are retired we tend to make 1 trip to DLR and 1 trip to WDW every year. Next DLR trip is with the grandkids. It will be their first DLR trip! It will be interesting to see how they like DLR compared to WDW.

Awesome!
yes, unless it’s some special event that I really want to attend that I can’t carve out time. Otherwise we like to go for at least three nights and my favorite is four at Disneyland. Sometimes we struggle to get three rides in on a day because we are so lazy. Merchandise and food and vibes. Tee hee. This is not to say that we don’t like rides. My husband did the challenge and rode every moving attraction in both parks in one day. Like 54 or something crazy. We often times will rope drop and hit like 3 to 5 rides and then go back to the hotel and the rest of the day is very chill.
That is a very refreshing view about it being your vacation home. I think that’s how we view it now too, and we usually get a one bedroom for the two of us. We don’t quite have enough points to do one bedroom for all 5 to 6 of our trips that we do. Let’s see: two weeks times two trips for you would be 28 nights? We are close and could probably do 20 Ish. Granted our 4 night stints are weekend heavy so that’s like 5-6 weekends not 4 and being teachers, we usually are going right at the most point heavy times. Retirement is going to be sweet!

That plane fare was daunting so we tried one longer stay PRE DVC purchase just to see. LOVED it, and didn’t want to leave even at 12 nights! The Master Plan developed as one 2 week stay a year. And then…we attended a Mickey’s Very Merry last year. Pretty sure everyone can guess what came next. Yup, now there is an annual Dec trip planned as well. Compromise position is the 2 week trip will be a one bedroom (which we’ve never even seen yet) and the shorter Christmas trip will be in a resort studio. Otherwise this ‘vacation’ home is going to rival our home mortgage!
Happy to be home at DVC!

Before we retired it was one trip a year. Now we have a lot more flexibility. We usually do 2 weeks at WDW and 5 to 7 at DLR. The ToT at VDH is a real killer for longer stays. We also pick the events such as this year in October with Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party and last year for Flower and Garden.. May was much too hot for these PNW folks, but it was fun none the less. We are fortunate to have "enough" points these days. Pretty limited by the dues so AddOnItis has hit reality! I am really thinking about selling our VDH and using the funds to add on at VGC and AKV via resale. Not sure yet. But fun to think about

Yeah sometimes Steve mentions selling our Riviera points and swapping to something else like more VGC but it is nice having one contract at WDW and our Riviera contract is our cheapest points haha. And won’t get a good price since it’s one big contract and restricted. So best to keep it. :). And yes re VDH TOT! We just figure that amount and set it aside with dues money as if it was a really high maintenance fee.
