Glad to be a part of the forums. I'm 37 and grew up when forums where you're only option, so I still can't get into the social media. I do listen to the DVCFan podcast every week on my way home from work. My wife and I are Disney adults

Our history: My wife is a huge Disney fan and we took a belated honeymoon to Disney in 2018. I had gone a couple times at ages 5 and 12, watched all the movies as a kid, but was crazy into Disney. After that trip I was hooked (our entire house is Disney themed), I saw the DVC signs, but when I found out it was a timeshare I just wrote it off. Fast forward to 2020, I was deployed overseas and bored and we were planning a trip for when I got back. I figured I might as well look into this DVC thing if we are going to keep going back. Once I dug into it, I figured out it is not a traditional money trap timeshare. I researched for about 6 months and we ended up buying at Riviera in 2021. My only regret is we didn't buy sooner!

We had planned to go once a year on those points which has turned into every other month or so on shorter trips (being semi-local). Honestly, a lot of the time now we might pop in a park for a couple rides or just hang around the resort and Disney Springs, it's so much more relaxing than that "once in a lifetime" trip.

Anyway, look forward to be a part of the forum.

Hello there and welcome to the DVC Fan Forums! I tell people all of the time that the research phase of DVC can be the most fun part. I did the same as you and I researched for about 6-8 months. I watched a ton of DVC Fan videos, The Magic in the Music and any other videos I could get my hands on. I really enjoyed everything about it. I also wish I bought sooner.
