Hello from the REAL Saratoga Springs (New York)
Hello everyone! Long time listener to The DVC Show podcast. This seems like a cool/fun forum...hopefully the engagement stays high. After years of kicking the tires, we bought into DVC in January of 2020 (yep, JUST before the world shut down). We traveled to WDW just about every year with our two daughters since they were little and finally pulled the trigger on a 200 point BCV resale contract. Now our girls are in college and my wife and I enjoy most of our trips (WDW, DCL, and non Disney) on our own. Being empty nesters is different...and GREAT!

Hello! What do you think about the dvc version of SS? also, in your frequent trips with your kids, when in the year would you go?
Hello! Given that SSR is in Florida and Saratoga Springs is in Upstate NY, it’s really hard to have SSR feel like the real Saratoga Springs. That said, Disney did a great job incorporating names and landmarks of Saratoga Springs into the resort. And the theming/artwork throughout the resort does a great job capturing the vibe of Saratoga Springs.
When we were traveling to WDW with our kids, we typically went in December or January during their school breaks. Florida’s weather in the summer is just too hot!

If you do, I recommend anytime from mid July through Labor Day. That’s when the horse track is running and the entire town is electric. Although, fall is also gorgeous with tons of things to do outside (Saratoga is located at the foot of the Adirondacks). Stay away from winter…it gets COLD!
