What price would YOU pay for BCV Points?
Just interested to see people's thoughts on this - I just saw a recent post by a reseller for a BCV resale contract at $145 / point. Now I ran the math, and that's about $19/point for the remaining life of the contract. At that point, you are dang near hitting the rental price of points. Now I know I know, its hard to get in, though I think this is a bit overstated, we've been able to get in plenty without owning there, but we have flexibility what time of year we travel. But, if dues continue up at their current rate at BCV, if you buy this with only 14 years remaining (next year or the year after depending UY) you are looking at $22/point per year, plus any growth in dues.
Just something I think is an interesting point of discussion, many of us have been thinking about these 2042 expiry dates for a while, and every year I think we get closer to really seeing either a major shakeup by DVC, or the imploding of he value of resale on them.
I've been considering BCV as my next resale contract, just to have one contract in the Magic Kingdom area, and one in the EPCOT area. Seems like everyone is waiting for the next shoe to drop on what Disney will do for the 2042 resorts. To me, you better be sure what you're paying is worth it to you for the remaining years on the contract.
I think you're right though, DVC is probably ripe for some big changes for 2042!

No way I would pay that for a 2042 contract. Maybe up to 130. I would probably just go for a BWV contract which tends to be cheaper (unless you absolutely need Stormalong Bay or some other reason for BCV).

Seems like every time I've asked someone about a BCV contract they point me to BWV lol

That's actually rather funny - I was just writing elsewhere how we avoided BWV because of the lure and the hype around BCV. This year we gave it a shot, and we really enjoyed it. Like, it has a great vibe. Stormalong Bay is great an all, but the Boardwalk is just, well its vibing. The only complaint we had is the refill sites and lack of selection for the refillable mugs - the worst of any resort. But the walk back to the resort, chilling on the balcony, going out for a bite at night, walking to HW and EP, the sound loop. Just awesome.
The Crescent Lake resorts are just different….. it’s a buy where you want to stay crew…. and Beach Club is a small resort with a great point chart and doesn’t have the 2 bedroom issue that Boardwalk has….

Yea - I get those folks, I vehemently disagree with them, because I want to stay everywhere and just want to maximize my points to do so. But I do get it. And man, if you think the 2 bedrooms are an issue now, have you seen how many cabins they are building at lakeshore lodge !?!?!
