Disney World history

I'm as old as the WDW parks! I have pictures (the old, square kind) of MK the first year it opened. Some of the characters were rather frightening. Don't remember much from those trips, but I do remember the skyway.

I was born the year before WDW opened and started going as a toddler. My first actual trip was to Disneyland at 6 months old, of course I have no memory of that. Some of my favorite rides are no longer at MK such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. Like ProfJenn, I too remember the skyline ride connecting Fantasy and Tomorrow Lands.

I remember Mr. Toad’s and Snow White being scary.

I do remember thinking I was about to be run over by a train (LOL) but then as I got a little older I just loved it!

I wasnt there day one but I was there in 1979:) but I dont remember anything. LOL..Not sure if POTC was my fave ride then but it probably was:) it still is and always will be

Not day one for sure, my first visit was in 1976. My only theme park experience had been Six Flags. I was 14 and I loved WDW...so many favorite attractions from back then...Haunted Mansion, Pirates, 20,000 Leagues, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress. Most of them are still around, and I try to ride them every trip!
