When you modify your reservation to move the dates forward, DVC will apply the borrowed points first before any current-year points are used. In your example, your final reservation will use up all the borrowed points and then apply current-year points to complete the reservation. The remaining unused points from the c

Great post, @Ryan C! You had me at “add more MLM events, 😂. Your table highlighting the number of events each year is complelling. Anecdotally, we’ve had good luck with the “pop up” MLM events, so hope those continue moving forward. I also agree with each of your points. Paywalling MLM events doesn’t seem like a fair

Moonlight Magic Summer 2026 Discussion Thread

For sure, I understand why local members may push back on reservation-based priority. But because MLM is a DVC event, it seems reasonable to give the strongest priority to members using their membership for a DVC resort stay during the event dates. After all, local members are not excluded from that opportunity.

Moonlight Magic Summer 2026 Discussion Thread

I'm sorry you weren't able to register for MLM, particularly since you already have a DVC reservation for those dates. I was shut out last summer as well, even though I had a DVC reservation. I really wish DVC would prioritize members with reservations more heavily, allowing open registration only after all members wit

That's a great allocation of points. Do all of your contracts share the same Use Year, or do some vary? I have four contracts myself, three with a December Use Year and one with an April Use Year. Sometimes I like having a contract with a different UY because it gives me a little more flexibility when planning trips af

Polynesian Tower Room Views

We've stayed in a Resort View Deluxe Studio in the new tower a couple of times and will be returning again in July. For the point savings, we've found the resort-view category to be more than adequate and very enjoyable. From what I understand, most rooms on the front side of the building overlooking the porte cochère

Direct purchase with new restrictions

Yes - buying Poly direct does provide flexibility to potential future resale buyers to stay at any of the original 14 resorts. You also have a contract end date of 2066, which itself is a long runway and not far behind the Riviera at 2070. As we've seen, these newer resorts incur a significant penalty on the resale mar

200‑Point BLT Contract — Good Deal or Pass?

It sounds like you’ve done your homework. One way to evaluate losing this year’s points is to apply a price per point threshold for that year’s allotmen.—say $20/point. Then recompute the cost with that expected deduction in sales price. So, for example, if a 200 point contract would normally sell at $150/point or $30k

Dining plan vs DVC Discount

Yes! I hadn’t consdered doing that before last year’s Festival of the Holidays, but it’s pretty easy to be “in the money” on the plan when you apply it to a dining package. We hope to do it again for our December trip this year.

Dining plan vs DVC Discount

Another consideration for the dining plan that benefited our family: purchasing the Table Service plan to cover the cost of an Epcot seasonal festival dining package. We applied it at Biergarten to receive reserved seating for the Candlelight Processional last December. These meals are often higher than the typical tab

From the Poly Tower, the walk to the TTC would be quite a haul, especially with kids in the heat of July. Your best bet for both MK and Epcot is to hop on the resort monorail. You actually have two similar options from the tower: you can backtrack to the Great Ceremonial House or you can actually walk to the Grand Flor
