What travel agent offers best experience when booking DCL?
Looking to book in the short term (June/July 2026) DCL 4-5 days out of Florida.
I’ve heard of multiple Disney centric travle agents. Please share your experiences and why its best to book with a TA vs. direct with DCL.
Pros of using a TA:
You don't have to wait on the phone with DCL to book, change rooms, make payments, etc.
Some, but not all give some OBC depending on how much you're spending.
It's free.
You support another small person/industry.
Can usually still use all of the same traditional payment methods (cc/GC)
Good ones can provide advice.
Can put in special requests (dining time, allergies, etc.)
Can look out and automatic rebook if discounts come along
Cons of using a TA:
Biggest con is that you can't control your reservation directly - you have to go through your TA for most reservation related items (such as cancelling, booking transportation through DCL, etc.). Which can be an issue if you have non-responsive/nightmare TA. Note that you as opposed to your TA will book onboard activities/check-in. So a TA does not limit that aspect.
When you book your Onboard Booking Placeholder, it naturally defaults to your current TA. You have to take one extra step to indicate you don't want your current TA. Then you have to switch within a certain days after booking.
All of the money goes to the Mouse.
I have an amazing TA (withDisguy), and he's been so helpful with booking DCL cruises. He walked me through everything DCL, gave me OBC, and waited on hold with Disney for me multiple times.
