We are planning to hit this restaurant for the first time in many years on an upcoming vacation. Since our last visit, the restaurant has been redecorated, and there are new characters at the character breakfast. Any thoughts on what you love or maybe dislike about this restaurant? What items on the buffet are must haves?

I went for dinner and thought it was a cute experience, but I'm not exactly running back. I recall liking the prime rib, saffron-lemon butter salmon, and warm chocolate cake. However, I remember that Paul, Amy, Jeff, and Panda went at a more crowded time and didn't exactly have a great experience when it came to the buffet.

1900 Park Fare is good if you're there for the characters. We went for an early dinner and had a chance to meet with the characters multiple times. They really took their time interacting with our toddler, and the part where everyone makes a wish was a nice touch.

Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!

While I can understand Disney’s switching out PF characters for more recent ones, it made more sense to me to have Pooh, Alice and the Mad Hatter. The GF is supposed to be Victorianish themed, so British children’s book characters seemed to fit better, imo. (Not that Cinderella is British, so oh, well.)

I’m a lit geek; feel free to ignore my rants. 😉

As said above, character interactions have been great over the years we’ve eaten there.

Beware the famous strawberry soup! Has all the appeal of melted lipstick for me. Even if you love strawberries as I do, I suggest trying a sample of it first. Sure wish I had.

Otherwise, food is generally above average to good.

The food at breakfast is very good but the theme and vibe is no where near what it used to be IMO. It could be I feel that way because we have so many family memories dining there (it was always our first morning breakfast) but to me it feells more clinical and the previous characters were so much fun.

Breakfast pizza (which is really for the kids 😎) and the overall selection is great!
