DCA - Oogie Boogie Bash 2026

After not going to DL and DCA for over a decade, my wife and I had a night there for our 22nd Anniversary. She waitlisted a night at GCV and we went for Oogie Boogie Bash. Just to add a little more color, when we first got married we ended up with annual passes and went quite frequently before having our 3rd and 4th kids. The Halloween party was at Disneyland and we'd go for the discounted price, but the "value proposition" for the 6 of us just didn't feel like it was there. DW has become the go to and, though expensive, still feels like a proper vacation and that we get our money out of it.

That being said, Oogie Boogie Bash was really well executed and I feel like it was better planned the Mickey's Not So Scary Party.

A. Each of the treat trails that we went on had a Villain that you could either walk by or get photos with. They all had a stage and would comment as people went past. Those treat trails felt a little longer than in DW but was more worth it with that "meet and greets".

B. The actual Meet & Greets were very similar to the ones in DW. The worst line was for Daisy, Minnie and Clarabel as the Hocus Pocus characters.

C. Madame Leota's Swinging Wake was pretty cool - it goes through the main street so you can typically catch it regardless of which ride or treat trail you were waiting in. We didn't catch the headless horseman though. =\

D. Rides and Waits - it felt more like an after-hours even than it did a party. I think the longest wait we had was for the Cars ride @ 25 minutes. Everything else was either a walk on or less than 15 minutes. The Guardians overlay for Halloween was very fun. Spiderman was a workout.... think Toy Story Mania but you sling webs with your arms rather than a gun.

All in all, a great time and maybe Disney can sneak in the treat trail villains for the Not So Scary Party. ;)
