My wife and I are empty nesters and hope to start a tread of other empty nesters to share our love of all things Disney and our DVC Vacations.

Our first trip without kids was Sept 2024 and it was ahhhhMAZING! We decided to buy DVC in 2025 and will take our first Welcome Home Trip November 2026. Our home resort is SSR but we booked a 2 BR villa with a theme park view at BLT for this trip as we are brining our daughter and SIL along with us for her 30th birthday.

When our daughter went off to college in fall of 2021 me wife and I started take a bi-annual week long trip to WDW to celebrate us and our marriage. It brings us closer together each time. The time we spend together gives us what we need to love each other more. Haven DVC makes it so easy.
We spend more time now just enjoying being together and really slow down and enjoy the parks instead of rushing all over for rides.

Bought DVC when one kid in college and one in high school (2005j. Have enjoyed many trips just by ourselves, often do resort only and no parks. Kids ( and one spouse )join us at least once a year, then we always do parks. They say they cannot keep up with us LOL. Home resort is SSR and over the years we have added multiple contracts. Our favorite place to be!

Hello from Rhode Island.. We bought the Polynesian on a "whim" in 2016 while we were staying at The Beach Club. We have never looked back. In fact, we went on the buy another direct Polynesian contract and then a resale at BLT and AKV. Our children are grown with families of their own and we have enough points to visit once a year with each of them and their littles and stay in a 2 bedroom with them and also for my husband and I to stay in a studio later in the year. . We alternate years for the kids. The Contemporary/BLT holds a special place in our hearts because my youngest granddaughter took her 1st steps there in the lobby but I must say that the Polynesian and the new Tower are our favorite. We have yet to use our AKV points there but our daughter has they there and loved it. Thank you for starting this thread.

Hello from Connecticut..We bought in 2008 when our 2 daughters were younger. We did quite a few trips since that time which included our daughters and my parents. So many great memories. Now our girls are older and have found their significant others. We took a trip with them and had a wonderful time. Was my now SIL first time at Disney World (he had been to Disney Land previously). My husband and I now have taken multiple trips just the two of us and we have a great time. Always looking to do something we haven't done on a previous trip. We have had split stays that gave us the opportunity to stay at different resorts that we have never stayed at previously.

We are new Grandparents as of Nov 2025 and are very excited for future trips with our grandson. Our daughter has already started encouraging the love of Disney with our grandson. Can't wait!
