Hello everyone!
My name is Ben, I've grown up going to Walt Disney World with my family since I was 3 years old after my parents bought a beach club contract for 11 cranberries. Disney has always had a special place in our hearts and we always look forward to going back every year! Recently, I've fallen in love with runDisney and have been able to participate in both runDisney Disneyland races (which were my first two trips out to Disneyland), and run my first Marathon during the 2026 marathon weekend! (Hope to see everyone at the 2027 Marathon weekend - signed up for Dopey!)
Currently I work for Keyholder Vacations as a software engineer. I've been hard at work with everyone at Keyholder to bring you these brand new DVCFan Forums! I am very excited to get this out to you and for you to experience what we've created. Please please please let us know of any and all feedback, I really want to help make sure this platform can thrive. Thank you all for making such an amazing community that allows us to do this!
Couple of fun facts about myself:
At home I have two cats, Buckeye and Oso. They're always keeping the house interesting with their antics haha. Usually a few times a day there's cat WWE in the living room followed by a lot of running
Recently I've started competing in Pokemon Regional Championships for the TCG. Over the past month I've been able to travel to Houston and Orlando to compete, and in May I'll be in LA (and maybe Disneyland...) to compete at the LA Convention Center
(Also, I apologize in advance, this thread has become a place for me to test things during release. Cleaned it up a little bit, but then thought might as well keep it for the history haha)

Don’t think I understand much of this yet but Ben, we want to add our thanks for building someplace safe to experiment and learn! Even better, learn among people who share the enthusiasm for Disney! Never felt capable enough to jump in on Facebook and knew we were missing out so this is exciting! Also thrilled to hear there is another reasonable adult (that’s you!) who is captivated by Pokémon. Our adult son on the autism spectrum is fascinated by it and we didn’t know enough to encourage or discourage!

My brother and I enjoy playing the Pokemon trading card game! We're even traveling to compete in Pokemon Regional Championships - have had the opportunity to visit Houston, LA, Milwaukee, and even attend an event in Orlando! Everyone we've met through the Pokemon community has been amazing! More recently I've gotten back into playing the video games and even trying out the new Pokemon Champions game they just released.

it is hard to read the forums as the background is so dark. i know that light font om dark background is typically recommended but the icons, etc are ...
Thanks so much for the feedback! I can look into improving the color/readability of the icons/text for dark mode and light mode.

Sounds like you are thoroughly entertained on a number of Pokémon levels Ben! Happy to hear it’s legitimate cuz all I know is that he LOVES to play the game on his phone and he is frequently looking for cash to buy the Pokecoinns, I think?
Thankfully, saving for Disney trips is the first thing that has been able to compete and he is getting the idea that if I buy the coins then I can’t save for the next trip to Florida! It’s working for the moment!
