I agree, if you are going to associate a resort with a park, it needs to have some form of special access to that park.
I know at Disneyland they've started experimenting with resort guests get a free LL instead early entry and for me I would rather have a free LL than early entry. To me early entry just means you shift standing in line for a ride to standing in line outside the park. I realize at Disneyland they only have three hotels
In fairness I think right now it is a safety issue due to construction, hence the KEEP OUT sign at the entrance to the old path.
When Lakeshore Lodge opens please reopen the path between the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.
I wonder if this resort will do the sort of graduated point charging they do at Riviera - where at non-peak times of the year the points are not too bad but during certain peak times the increase is much steeper than at most resorts.
We actually haven't stayed at SSR on our last few visits and I've scheduled it for one of our trips for next year (split stay between SSR and BRV) and it is by intent because I miss it.
The one thing about APs that I like is that when I go into a park I am okay with not doing much because I know I can always go back. When I had whatever type of pass I had with a finite number of days on it I always felt that I had to get my money's worth every time I entered a park.

I think you can say this about all of the monorail resorts - they are just too busy because frankly it is too easy for people who are not staying there to visit them to dine, shop, or just look around (yeah I am guilty of that). Nobody loves the Riviera more than me. We had no intention of buying more points but decided to buy 125 there in 2022. Just a great resorts all around, checks every box for me.

I've actually tried to make that argument to people over the years and it is like talking to a wall. The idea that Animal Kingdom Lodge is on the far side of the moon and far from everything is too cemented in the brains of too many people.

The Riviera is great for the resort/rest days. Not only is there plenty to do at the resort but you are within walking distance of Caribbean Beach and the Skyliner gives you access to the resorts around Crescent Lake (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk) and you can even go to Pop Century and Art of Animation if you want
