Arrival day strategy

Ah, we are in similar situations and when I have pitched a similar strategy to my wife, beyond the switching of rooms bit her reply is usually along the lines of, "We bought the points so we don't have to pay for rooms."

Arrival day strategy

I guess it depends but if you are paying cash for someplace you then have to switch rooms which can be a pain. Back in the days of the Magical Express I always liked the idea of flying in late, getting a hotel near the airport that has a free shuttle and free breakfast (like the Hampton Inn) and the next morning taking

Saratoga Springs Owners Threads

Stay in the 8500 Building in the Grandstand. It's right outside the pool and it's a closer walk to the main building than some buildings in the Springs (which cost more points) and it's not a bad walk to the Springs bus stop if you want to get on at the last stop so you don't have to do the internal loop (don't do this

Best Balconies?

Old Key West and it's not even close. The Villas at Key West have big balconies with a nice table and chairs that you can actually use. Other resorts have tiny balconies you can barely fit on.

Annual Passes or No?

Just one other thing to keep in mind with regard to renewing. If you don't renew and there is some sort of world event (like COVID) that causes APs to be suspended for awhile, you may not have the option to get one, at least not for some time. Annual Passes or No?

For us we just renewed our APs with Membership Magic Beyond at 65 points per pass. We like that benefit of MMB. Of course we also just inherited a significant number of points from my parents who are now 90 and not in good health and cannot go to WDW anymore. Without those points added to our point total using points t

Arrival day strategy

My favorite arrival strategy is getting there mid to late afternoon. If we are flying (Southwest from BWI) it means we are not getting crazy early for a morning flight. If we are driving it means staying at DVC Hilton Head the night before. Either way, getting there mid to late afternoon allows us to unpack, get settle

Cruising

Disney Wonder - ALASKA!

Yeah, it was the first leg of the Wonder's repositioning cruise down to Sydney. It was amazing. Port calls in Honolulu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island before we got off in Honolulu. If nothing else go to Stanley Park to see the totem poles and hike around it is really nice.

Disney Wonder - ALASKA!

Too bad you are not hitting Icy Strait Point, I love that port call. Very low key. Also, not sure what your Vancouver plans are but there are a lot of fun excursions to do there as well. We did the Vancouver to Hawaii cruise this past fall and stayed in the Fairmont Waterfront across from the cruise pier. Very nice hot

Cruising

Disney Wonder - ALASKA!

Salmon Fishing because my son loves to fish (they will process your catch and ship it home too). Kayaking at Icy Strait Point (not sure if you are going there). Whale Watch cruises are always a winner although you will see plenty of whales from the ship. In Skagway in 2018 we did a fun tour where we took the train up D
