Your points for buying direct are leas compelling than others would have, so would seem to be not needed for you. What about some good old SSR sleep around points? You’ve tried multiple resorts, do you like continuing to try the 014?
Your spreadsheet is excellent! In particular i like the functionality to look at the cost of staying elsewhere with your points. I like the overall PV of all dues but find that due to contract length differences its a tough measure to compare. I’ve been working on looking at that but on an annualized basis.
I calculate a break even point cost that factors in point cost, dues, contract length and time value of money. When i do that Poly, SSR, BLT, CCV and VGF are all so close (within $1/pt) that they might as well be tied for the cheapest over the long term, which can seem surprising.
You’re going to have to work the website to piece that plan together. Meaning, look for a couple of nights and then change up your waitlist while you check 10x per day. It’s very satisfying when it works though!
On our most recent trip we arrived at 4pm and didn’t run off to a park. Instead we had a nice dinner at GF Cafe. It was so much more relaxing and we were fresh and ready to go the next day. When trying to save points we have taken to an airport hotel the night before we go home. The last day is usually a long park day
The initial upfront favors Aulani though right? I would start with the Aulani resale. If you are local and can be flexible you may be able to get the odd short stay at VGC which would be a huge bonus.
