Saratoga Springs Owners Threads

I love this resort and agree the layout and landscaping make it so peaceful and beautiful. However, I don’t like having to walk around at night. You have to walk by so many ponds and I get freaked out that there’s a gator I’m not seeing that’s closer to the path than I would want them to be!

Accumulating points for long retirement stays?

On a related note - I totally get wanting to retire into the Disney bubble and its not an uncommon strategy to spend long stretches of time in DVC units (they do make you check out and check in once a month and will not give you the same room). Which makes the “Storyliving” concept so confusing to me. They are building

Price per point VS. Dues per Point

Aside from the obvious outliers (the two atlantic coastal resorts), I feel like buying based upon what dues are relative to other disney resorts today is a bit of a gamble. Is there evidence that lower dues resorts will stay low relative to others? What happens when DVC announces some major capital improvement plan at

Accumulating points for long retirement stays?

Only thing to keep in mind is that it involves more than just accumulating enough points to pull extremely long stays off. Those points come with dues, which have a knack for always going up. This can get tough to manage in retirement when annual incomes often reduce significantly. Its probably more cost effective to j

DVCFan Community DVC Point Stats!

Once you’ve really looked at the charts, anything under 125ish is really more of an every other year ownership. Which by the way isnt a bad way to go - even if you go every year. You can score a great deal at a moderate for that non DVC year stay!

100% agree. The DVC owner is the most loyal Parks & Experiences customer there is. Aside from Golden Oak residents (very few), DVC membership is as “put your money where your mouth is” gets. But your post expands “lodging” to “vacations”. That’s a subtle but significant shift. You may find that you go more often as a D

DVC 2042 Tin Foil Hat Extravaganza

Good point re CCV in 2042. Would they really offer BRV as part of CCV on short years? DVC membership always has its eye on Yacht Club…unless they walk away from the conference piece of the hotel’s business I don’t see how they let go of inventory. The place was well thought out: A hotel side and a timeshare side. It’s

On the fence about DVC resale...

You’re being very thorough with this decision, as you should! Just remember if you’re buying direct because of incidental benefits, they can change. They can also go away. This can happen for a myriad of reasons ranging from “demand is high we don’t need to give stuff away to sell points” to “there’s a new boss at DVC
