As long as the points have posted to your 2027 points, you can borrow from the 2027 bucket to use in Jan 27 (as a 2026 borrowing). I always get confused with the December use year for this reason. Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs has it on their seasonal menu currently. I've seen them have it several times during the year.
The thing to remember is that if you hear of a deal, you can call and see if it can be applied to your tickets, if you bought from Disney. I'm not familiar with other discount ticket purchases and how Disney promotions would apply.
IMHO the sooner you buy the better. I cannot imagine they get cheaper over time. Also, there is usually an October price increase then a January one. Get them while you are sure of your dates. Remember if you have date based tickets and have to move dates, they cannot be refunded, but they can be pushed later.
If you plan to camp out in the MK I might suggest Liberty Tree for the all you care to enjoy holiday favorites. Just remember that if you decide to leave the MK you might not be able to get back in. They regularly reach capacity.
I don’t think Disney is stopping guests from visiting other resorts. They are stopping non-guests from taking the Disney Springs buses to the resorts. I don’t know that this is affecting many locals. I do think it’s going to affect the good neighbor hotel guests who want to resort hop. I think locals would have APs that would cover parking anyway.

I wear both my Magicband+ on one arm snd my Apple Watch on the other. That way I don’t have to contort to swipe in to the parks. Which is hard from my wheelchair.

You left out the walikg path walk to GF and continue on to the MK. If staying at the tower, it could be easier. Same can be said from the tower to the monorail…. Walk to GF and grab the monorail there 1 stop closer.
The best restroom in MK is inside Tomorrowland Terrace. Since the restaurant isnt open people forget its thete. They all congregate at the one by the Plaza.
If I could have him do one thing, it’s bring back the “streetsmosphere” people to the parks. The mayor of Main Street and co. In MK, the hollywood characters walking around Studios, even the robot and muppet mobile labs in Epcot. While we’re at it bring back the Grand Floridian orchesrta.
Shiki-Sai is one of my favorites. The authenticity, the atmosphere, the food is all top notch. Another great place to watch the Epcot fireworks from the window seat.
