1st time owner! Current timeline May 26
Hey all! Super excited to be getting our first ever DVC contract at BWV!! We had our ROFR pass after being sent on May 1st & waived on May 13th. My contract officially closed on May 22nd and my escrow agent advised:
Disney will be notified of the change in ownership within 24-48 hours. Disney typically takes 4-6 weeks to complete the transfer. Disney will send you two emails to activate & create your account. The vacation points can take up to an additional two weeks to be loaded in your account.
What I’d like to know is if this timeframe is correct in the current time as I am hoping to book our first stay for May 15th 2027 so need to get everything tied up by the first week of June to have a chance of getting it but if it takes even the shorter end of the timeframe I have been given thats 6 weeks from now so the first week in July or at worst case the longer end mid July so i have no chance!
I saw in another thread people getting it through in a week?!?
I know being an existing member adding on makes it faster and I’m a new member.
Anyone else done this recently and can give some comments on how long it took for you or how long you’ve been waiting?

Booking May 15, is tight based on what they quoted, but you'll likely be fine. Just keep checking your inbox and Spam folder. And hopefully others who've closed a new resale contract recently can chime in for you.
SupporterWe seem to be on a similar timeframe, May 1 sent to Disney, May 13 passed ROFR, closed on May 20. I'm with you for wanting quick access to the points. Im itching to start booking vacations. My agent also said 4-6 weeks, but they also said up to 4 weeks for ROFR and it took a fraction of that time. So hopefully this stage is similar.

Yes we seem to be on a very similar timeframe! I’ll be interested to see if the timeframe trends between us continue! Are you a new owner like me or is this an additional contract? Assuming if you’re already in the system it could come through faster for you.

We are also on our first ever contract and also buying into the Boardwalk! We’re on like identical paths! We have been lucky enough to visit it on a number of occasions but have never stayed there! Its the location for us that’s the main selling point!
