Hello all of you fellow New Yorkers! Welcome to the DVC Fan Forum. Where are you from and what do you love about DVC?

I am from East Hampton and have been a DVC member since 2024. My wife and I own at BLT. So far I have done 4 trips in my two years. DVC has made it so easy to travel from NY to Disney. You can always find a flight out of Islip or JFK and I actually enjoy doing a quick 4 day trip. As many people say, having DVC is great because you know you will always be going back. Thanks for checking in!

I'm now a local but was originally from NY (raised on LI and lived in Queens up until recently) and became a DVC Member when I was still there. There are so many flights to MCO from NY and FL that it was always easy to travel, and having DVC points made that even easier! I still travel between the two states pretty often, and I sometimes see some great prices for JetBlue out of Islip.

Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!

Yeah they definitely make it easy to get from LI to MCO thats for sure. I assume you moved down to Florida Lauren? I certainly plan to snowbird it to Florida very soon. My wife and I had a second home in Bradenton because she has family there. But we are still a little too young to make it worth our while and were not visiting it enough. So I hope to purchase again when we are finally ready and plan to retire. We need to be near a beach since that is all we know. I just hope to be within driving distance of Disney for some long weekends.

Yes, I moved down! I wanted to be a DVC snowbird back in the day, but life took an unexpected turn. Being near the beach and within driving distance of Disney sounds like the best of both worlds!

Also from Long Island. We drive and bring a lot lol. We usually do 8 days at WDW once a year. Love having our DVC membership. We stay overnight in Brunswick GA on the way down and northern VA on the way back. The drive home stinks lol, the drive there is more tolerable

Our family is from Stony Brook. We bought DVC resale back in 2020 at Beach Club, but recently went direct with the announcement of LSL and bought Polynesian two weeks ago (a resort that has grown near to our hearts since 2023). We have our annual trip for November, but lately we like to travel in May too. We make it either a cash stay or we are able to split our points up to do both. We love to watch Disney Food Blog and DVC Fan.

DVC Members since 2020, Owner of 150 pts ๐ŸŒบ Polynesian April 2026- Next trips: May 2026 Caribbean Beach, November 2026 Boulder Ridge

Hello, also from Long Island but originally from SoCal. I live 13 minutes from ISP so going down to Florida is so easy!!! I have a kid in school in West Palm and another working for WDW and family in Vero Beach. My husband and I have been looking to relocate, probably to the Vero area. These Long Island taxes are killing us!!

I also like a strong gif game ๐Ÿ˜‰

What is this banking I keep hearing about?

Hey all! LI -Nassau county here. We bought our first DVC in '13, went every other year, then as the kids grew, addonitis hit, it has accelerated. Fast track, one kid did the College program, loved it and moved to Orlando in '20. Now my youngest moved to Miami but I still have one here on LI. No possible move until I retire and figure small roots here in NY. With a new grandaughter to the mix, I travel to Fl every 4-6 weeks to be part of their lives more. So...I am in the parks at least once/twice each trip when staying with them and use all my points up to the point of not having enough also-and in parks alot those trips. I am presently almost out of my '27 points! (I have 4 contracts each on average 150-175 points each). I tend to fly out of LGA (love that airport) or JFK.(train to the plain!) Getting to Islip after work is not easy. I don't mind driving down in one shot (I like to drive) however I HATE the drive home!!

Always planning the next visit-now two of my kids moved to Fla...so guess what???

Planning/training for my first runDisney in Oct.....yikes!

Hello from LI! Bought in 2019 and usually fly out of Islip, although I've done the drive a few times and also taken Amtrak (not the auto train and never again without a roomette). Thought I'd be escaping the winter misery but it turns out being from wine country means I can't ignore the siren's call of F&W in September.

I would have bought at BWV but they got rid of the clown.

Wow, lots of representation from LI here! I haven't lived there since before college, but I was there a few weeks ago, and oddly enough it still feels like coming home.

Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!
