Most Available WDW Resorts At The 7-Month Window
Hey Everyone,
What will be the list of WDW resorts from most available to least available at the 7 month window? We could get granular and break it down by room type, but to that sake of simplicity, let's not get that technical (for now). What all do you think? I want to know what would be realistic options if I decide to switch from our home resort on a planned trip.

I like the idea of tracking this.
Just from personal experience, Saratoga Springs , Old Key West and Animal Kingdom Lodge seem to have the most available rooms at the 7 month window. We've only been a member for a couple of years, so you'll have to take this with a grain of salt, as we don't have too much experience yet.
I think it would also depend on the time of year on which resort would have more availability at 7 months.
Home Resorts
Most available are Old Key West and Saratoga.
AKL standard view rooms and Polynesian longhouse studios also seem to have good availability.
I was considering adding a detail excluding those peak times like Christmas, July 4th, etc. It is hard to find actual information on realistic expectations for the 7-month window.

SupporterIt's going to be the older resorts with the larger properties... OKW/SSR/AKV.. and even then it's going to be by room type, i.e. 1 bedrooms are usually more available than studios, etc.
Otherwise, be comfortable with split stays, and if you have to wait list, book 1 day at a time because getting a single day is easier than multiple. Depending on the resort and how far out you're on the wait list, there's actually a good chance they come thorugh. Then you can call member services to combine them into a single reservations. This is actually how we got 4 consecutive nights at a 1 bedroom at VGC last year.

If you look under "DVC Tools" on this forum in the menu bar to the left of your screen, there is a link to the DVC Rental Store's availability tool. That gives you current availability, not historical data. However, its a way you can learn real time availability that you can't access through the DVC website as an aspiring member. Checking in on it every once and a while you'll have a good sense of availability.
