Buzz Lightyear

Better than I expected! I never liked it before and I found it actually fun now. I can actually see, hear, and feel what is going on better if that makes sense.

I haven't rode it yet but I am really excited to do so - hopefully when I'm down again in late April or early May but definitely when I'm down with the kids again in June. It definitely looks fun, like Amy said I wasn't a big fan of the old ride with its fixed position blasters but I do like Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters in Disneyland so I'm excited to try the refurb version in Disney World!

I only did the original a handful of times so I'm not sure I'm a good gauge... but I was entertained! The problem with those rides is I'm always so focused on shooting that I never take the time to stop and look at the scenic elements and stuff.

Regardless... Amy beat me and I'll never live that down.

Planning our next family visit for this summer. As it will be everyone’s first time experiencing the upgrades, my reign as family champ may come to an end. 😀

Can’t wait to see the upgrades, and who in my family walks away with bragging rights!

I really liked it. Did terribly, but gives me a reason to go back. Great improvements. It's really helpful to see and feel if you're hitting the targets. Definitely have to hit the very center of the target for it to count.

I hear ya. There are a few posted “hacks” to get a better score on the upgrade. We visited a few weeks too early to ride it, though.

We loved it. I could actually tell where I was aiming now and easy to see when I hit the target. We were lucky enough that on the day they soft opened we were at MK and just happened to be walking past it when they opened it. We were in the first handful of people to get on before all the bloggers had a chance to post that it opened. Now I just need to ride it again without our 2 yr old sitting next to me messing up my game hahaha! I did still manage to score 237k despite my arm being yanked which was 1k more than my wife...so I retain my title as family champ and really that is all that matters :)

We thought it was excellent! It's already one of our son's favorites but now the system is more responsive and gives feedback through vibration when you hit the target. PLUS on our first ride we were Pixie-Dusted and escorted from the exit right back into the LL cue for another go! 👍

I rode it this past Saturday and thought it was great. My best score to date!! Loved the vibration when you actually hit the target. I did have a LL for it, but during most of the day until around 4ish the wait was around 30 minutes. After that it jumped dramatically. Having the LL, I did not get to experience the cue to see if there were any mention worthy changes to mention.
