It’s usually a bad idea, but there are reasons to have more than 1 use year. I have VGC in a separate UY from my WDW points because ill never use those points elsewhere and June is better for CA, because i may visit DLR in June, July or Aug, where as my UY for WDW is Sept because ill NEVER go to WDW in June, July or Au

It feels like i have to seerch to find the conversations im invested in and interested in. Your home resorts are my (almost) exact set up!! I usually stay AKV for a couple noghts, then the majority at BWV, then finish it off at BLT. Im only a couple of years in, so i need to start trying other resorts, also planning on adding CCV. And currently only VGC at DLR.
I love split stays as well, i just havent been going long enough to feel satisfied only staying in one place. lol Alrhough i used to do 3 resorts in 8-9 nights, now i really just try to stay at BWV for the bulk, but land at AKV for a night or 2, then after 5-6 at BWV, maybe a Themepark. view at BLT to finish it off. ;)
I am 100% resale, but have been thinking about going hybrid and just adding a couple small addons direct to be able to bank and borrow to use at newer/restricted resorts. But if i was in need of a bigger chunk of points i would still buy resale first.
Same... We fly out of Sacramento, so its an all day event (1.5hr drive to SMF), & even worse if you aren't non-stop. I try to stop in Texas when I can, its a nice break right in the middle, i hate stopping in SF or LA, or on the other end, ATL, etc. (non-stop is only 5+ hrs, so if I want to get up early, I can get ther

Yep, direct VDH addon might be the way to go! (or VGC resale if you love VGC or don’t like VDH)
