Making an Offer - Etiquette

Spot on! When I was purchasing my BCV resale contract, I did my due diligence across all the broker sites to get an idea of what my offer would be. I found the contract I wanted on one broker site and submitted my offer. The broker agent reached out to me and told me that offer would offend the seller. Offend? LOL. The

AddOn-Itis - how do you know when?

I have resisted Addonitis, but I admit there were times I thought I would succumb to that nasty disease (LOL). The closest I came was when Poly Tower was announced and Poly resale, at that time, was like $150 per point. I was 100% sure the Tower would be rolled into the rest of Poly, which I knew would increase the res

Best View You Ever Had (DVC)

Big Pine Key, Polynesian Studio (3rd floor Lake View), and Aulani were all up there in terms of views for us. We also had a SS Congress Park room that had a fantastic view of Disney Springs. Of all of those, I would probably give the award to Aulani. I mean, how can you NOT give the award to a view of the Hawaiian Paci

Hawaii Dining and Activity Suggestions

Ooooh, jealous! We did Aulani three years ago for my oldest daughter's HS graduation present. This is going to be a super long comment, since I included the daily report of our trip for you. It shows what we did, where we ate, what we liked, and what we didn't like. Here it goes: We just completed our first trip to Aul

Split Stays?

Yes, we have done many split stays. They are fun and allow you to enjoy multiple resorts, but it all depends on the number of nights. We especially like splitting the stay between a monorail resort (Poly or Grand Floridian) and an Epcot area resort (BCV or Boardwalk). Then you can hit Magic Kingdom when you are staying

Favorite bar or lounge at Disney World

We snagged seats at the Yak and Yeti bar on our last visit. Chris is an excellent bartender! We got there about 30 minutes after opening and had to wait 20 minutes or so for another couple to leave, which opened up their seats. It's a great spot to grab some food and some good cocktails!

Annual Passes or No?

We live in NY and have purchased the Incredipass for the last 4 years. Given the amount of days we go to WDW, as well as the time of year we typically visit (October through February), it saves us money. For example, this year the cost for Incredipass had a "break even" point of 6 park days when comparing the cost of a

Beach Club Villas Owners Thread

We bought into DVC at Beach Club in January of 2020...yes, JUST before the world shut down. Ugh. BCV is easily our favorite resort! Here are just a few reasons: Proximity to Epcot. Wherever in WDW we spend our days, we really enjoy spending our nights in Epcot for a cocktail. If we are in another park during the day, w

The Disney Gift Card Deals Megathread

100%! It's not like you won't use them. We will have some money left over on the gift cards that we will easily spend on our next trip. I debated going back for one more round and my wife had to stop me. LOL. Our credit card bill can only take so much.

The Disney Gift Card Deals Megathread

Confirmation that the Dollar General 10% discount for today only is legit. It is in stores only and you can't get it online. And it's UNLIMITED!! You just have to purchase each card on a new transaction. We just purchased enough gift cards to pay for our yearly dues next year, renew our APs, and purchase our MNSSHP tic

Hello from the REAL Saratoga Springs (New York)

Hello! Given that SSR is in Florida and Saratoga Springs is in Upstate NY, it’s really hard to have SSR feel like the real Saratoga Springs. That said, Disney did a great job incorporating names and landmarks of Saratoga Springs into the resort. And the theming/artwork throughout the resort does a great job capturing t

Ideas for What's Next?

If/when they build a 5th gate, it needs to be something that competes with Universal. So, what positive reputation does Universal have that WDW doesn't? Rides. Universal is known for having more "intense" rides. So have a 5th gate that is focused on more "intense" rides, while also making sure it keeps that unique Disn

Unpopular DVC Opinions

Here is an unpopular Epcot opinion: You can absolutely start in Canada! Have you ever heard the term "it's not how you start, but how you finish"? Well, do you really want to end in Canada? Heck no! That would be like having your spoon full of sugar before the medicine. Take your medicine (Canada) first, then enjoy the

Unpopular DVC Opinions

I'll jump in with an unpopular opinion: SSR is actually a good resort and isn't just for "sleep around points". We stayed there for the first time for a Run Disney race. By the time the bibs went on sale, we were well past the 7 month booking window. The only resort we could get was SSR. We decided to make it a "park f

Unpopular DVC Opinions

Blasphemy!!! LOL. I get it. We are BCV owners and LOVE it. I agree the view from the rooms S-U-C-K-S. However, Storm Along Bay is legit and easily the best pool on property. Best of all, BCV is literally 50 yards from the Epcot World Showcase entrance. We enjoy a nightcap each night at Epcot, so BCV's proximity to Epco
