That everything has to reference characters, movies or attractions wasn’t my point because I don’t agree with that either. Perhaps I shifted too abruptly from my dislike of the restaurant’s name to my dismay that the appearance of the restaurant and resort don’t seem very Disney or lodge-like as does Wilderness Lodge w
< points upward > That man knows practically everything about WDW food. And he wouldn’t touch a Dole Whip if you gave him one but still knows where you might get a lime one.
Given that I own at the lavish (decadent?) GF/VGF, I’d agree with you that there’s a reason why nobody much goes to OKW or SSR to look around. I take it you’re implying that removal of the Gingerbread House is a step in the right direction—nothing appealing to see, no overcrowding? Perhaps not precisely your point…Or i
The more I think about this the less it makes sense if the DS bus restrictions ultimately become restrictions on resort hopping by “bubble” guests and locals who pay to park as is being speculated. Could it be another facet of give-em-less-and-charge-em-more-and-more, etc.? Because Disney knows from much experience tha
I hadn’t thought of the DS free parking impact on resort crowding because we’re weirdos who hate DS and rarely go there. Sorry JenT1971, but now that I really think about it, I see how locals hanging out at resorts more often than if they had to pay for parking could markedly result in overcrowded resorts. Here’s my de
Just thought of another TS that could be more appealing to your 8-year-old if Chef Mickey’s might be too little-kid: 50s Prime Time in DHS. What kid won’t enjoy watching Mom or Dad’s reaction when their table manners are corrected by “Cousin Irene”, the server? “Elbows off the table and sit up straight!” “Quit pushing
Beaches and Cream—great suggestion. But very hard to get an ADR unless you try for an uncommon time or go for it immediately your ADR window opens. That’s partially because there’s a floor show (of sorts)—watching other people order The Kitchen Sink and mostly fail miserably to finish it. (I know—cheap amusement. Still
With kids their ages. I suggest Chef Mickey’s. It’s very popular with young kids and thus as noisy as you’d expect. The food is pretty standard character meal buffet, but there’s reportedly great character interaction from Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald. Pluto? You’re practically twins. 😉 If character meals d
Thanks, JenT1971. You have rendered me not just pea green but flashing neon green with envy. Some weeks MORE than once? 😱 I’ll console myself with the fact that I’d never adjust to the steam bath that is Florida almost year round. You’re forgiven. 😁
Once again, I urge others of you unhappy with the Gingerbread House “retirement” to email Guest Relations. [email protected] HisDrewness and I got very thoughtful replies from a GRelations CM with some personal remarks about what we each said, not just a click-button form letter in its entirety. If enough
Edit to add: Oops! Just noticed you’ve likely been there and home again. Oh, well. Maybe what I said will help others. I suggest you examine Disney clothing in shops carefully to determine that the quality is satisfactory for the price. We still have Disney tees and denim shirts we bought 15-20 years ago that hardly sh
And so obviously unnecessary, imo. As ever, YMMV.
Something to be aware of is that Disney will not transfer perishable foods or medicines needing refrigeration. Since luggage isn’t permitted on Disney transportation, getting your coldstuffs to the next resort can be a bit challenging. You’ll have to figure out the most efficient and affordable means to transport those
While hardly a designated holiday, I’m all for a Winnie the Pooh unbirthday. You pick a date when you most want to be at WDW and presto-chango! It’s someone’s unbirthday to celebrate however you all care to. Works for me. 😁
We do splits, but I’m not fond of them due to all the hassle of packing and then unpacking again. So far, we’ve done 1 or 2 nights at an elsewhere DVC resort to try it and then a week or longer at our home resort. However, we’re trying a half-n-half this November with our two homes, VGF and BCV. Will see how that works
Heya, ROFR Monster 🖖 Enquiring minds gotta know—Is a loaded contract better with hot sauce and sliced jalapeños or will a dash of cayenne and some salsa do nicely, too?
I understand The ROFR Monster is quite the gourmet where edible enhancements are involved. There’s a likely source of info, I’d say. 😉
Not a local and never want to be but wonder if an Uber or Lyft to the TTC might be more convenient. Assuming you live within a reasonable distance so as not to have to pay a big chunk o’ cash for the ride, that is. Also, no tram ride across the TTC wasteland to endure, not to mention no return to a beastly hot car.
A widebrimmed straw hat makes a big difference, imo. Shades your face, ears and neck. The new hat shop in MK (used to be Prairie Outpost candy store) has very nice ones that are SPF rated. No worries about applying sunscreen evenly or thoroughly enough, especially to ears. You can add some cool feathers and other acces
You won’t see snow falling on Main Street at the Jollywood one, something to consider. For me, the falling “snow” is an emotional thing as in “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” Just isn’t a Disney home Christmas without the MVMCP. However, I must admit that being in the MK on Christmas Day is better still, though like tryin
