I think it may depend on what you want to prioritize. If you really don't want to end up with a split stay, book your entire stay wherever you can and then waitlist those dates for AKL. If you prefer to prioritize being at AKL, then book what you can find at Kidani and then waitlist the one night since your odds of a w
I haven't done many extras at the resorts, but I do think that the Keys to the Kingdom tour was totally worth it for an in-park extra. You get to learn all sorts of fun facts about the Magic Kingdom, and it was really cool to see backstage.
Yes, there should be more spots available for the first round of registration for those with hotel reservations. @Ryan C has a great blog that goes over all the Moonlight Magic basics, including registration. I got the short rib hash there the other day, and it was delicious! If I had a longer stay, I would've loved to try some of the other options.
While it's not necessarily quiet (but quieter than the main lobby), there is some nice seating in the lobby of Big Pine Key that could possibly work.
The all-bus situation with a stroller in tow kind of deters me from booking AKV more often too, but seeing how happy my son was there may make me change my mind in the future.

Kidani has a really nice water play area with different sections for different age groups! Also beyond the pool, the savannas, playground, and community hall at AKV are great for little kids. I love running around Crescent Lake, but it helps to go early before it gets crowded. Otherwise, running from the Poly to GF actually made a decent trail too.
I was just thinking: HS will soon have a playground area at the new Magic of Disney Animation. Disney Parks Blog mentioned a Drawn to Wonderland playground. I love that it will be indoors too, so there's a good air-conditioned space to get wiggles out.

Great tips! I always forget about this Mission Space playground. To add to your one bedroom comment, if you're more of a point miser like me, I sometimes like doing split stays with a deluxe studio and then a one bedroom at the end to enjoy the amenities and do laundry before going home.
