On the fence about DVC resale...

Those are the base prices. Right now AKL and BLT don't have incentives for new purchasers. However, Polynesian does have incentives like AirJay said above which get it to about $217/pt, but if you also take the Magical Beginnings offer, you can drop the price another $20 to $197ish. Magical Beginnings is when you sell

Upcoming 2026 Trips (Disney and Other)

We are excited to have several trips booked- May - BLT and Poly July- VDH Aug- VDH (might cancel) Dec- BRV Since we will have just been to VDH for 4th of July, I might cancel our August trip. If airfare prices drop, I'll keep the August reservation but otherwise will save the points and $$$ for another time.

MAY 2026 TRIPS THREAD

We will be at BLT (first time there) and Poly (first time in the tower) in May. Glad to have rides like Big Thunder opening back up and doing a real fingers crossed for a preview of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Since we are only there until mid-May, it's probably a bit too early for the preview, but maybe we'll get some ma

If you are considering Poly, I'd say buying direct is the way to go if you are able. The cost difference between resale Poly and direct Poly isn't that much. Run the numbers and see-- and remember that there are several incentive discounts for direct purchases that rotate every couple months. With buying direct, you ga

I live in Oregon! If the annual pass is part of your plan, buying Direct points will allow you to get the Sorcerer Pass ($1099 + tax) instead of the Incredi-pass ($1629 + tax). Ignoring tax, that is over a $500 difference per person each year. So, being direct can be very compelling for that reason. However, buying res

What is the best use year for me?

I'd recommend looking at the point charts for the resort you are interested in for the time period you want to travel and the room type you want. Then add 10% more points. However, if you are looking at a resort that has "value" rooms, those are typically high-demand and low availability so don't count on getting those

Not an Owner and Confused

Another difference between resale and direct is the ability to buy the Sorcerer Pass annual pass for WDW. It's a cheaper annual pass that only Florida residents and qualifying DVC members (direct) can purchase. It's a good savings if annual passes were something you would be looking to get. The Sorcerer pass and the op

What is the best use year for me?

I'd suggest October as the first choice and September as the second choice. I have December and typically like to travel in December... and it stinks because that Use Year with that in demand travel period is difficult. Save yourself the hassle of a December UY and go for a UY before that. Have fun searching for your c

The Disneyland DVC Conundrum - what to buy?

A concern I would have is that using a VGC contract you need to make your reservation between 11-7 months. If later your plans change, even by a day. You have very little opportunity to snag another reservation. However at VDH for studios you have a better chance of being able to adjust your reservation.

The Disneyland DVC Conundrum - what to buy?

I would recommend looking at the point charts between VDH and VGC to help you decide. As Astro said, there are times that are high for one resort and lower for the other. So if you have a plan to stay during a certain time of year, the point chart could really matter. You mentioned getting 30-50 points. That many point
