Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

I have always been too scared to ride but I LOVE the Muppets so we'll see if I can work up the courage. At a minimum will walk the queue and use the "chicken exit." I'm hoping for some fun new Muppets merch!!

I hope this is good….im a huge fan of the muppets but man, they aren’t closing for very long. Tells me they aren’t changing a lot. 😳

I agree. This was a panic move after the backlash for taking away Muppet Vision and the Muppets courtyard. The least they can do is make it good. Also, give me more episodes of the Muppet Show. That will help with the pain.

I'm so excited about this! Obviously Aerosmith was great but Muppets theming could be really good if done right!

Tom Bricker over at DisneyTouristBlog has some good analysis on this. He usually goes pretty deep on theme park updates, and he's a huge fan of the Muppets in general. Anyway, he did point out that the ride was always designed to quickly strip away the Aerosmith theming, in the event of some unseemly rock band behavior or whatever.

I think that is the post he has been updating since Muppet Vision's departure was announced and their re-appearance at the coaster was slated.

I have the same concern - I love the ride and can't argue that it was stale and needed change, but I also love Aerosmith - I hope they include I love Trash that Steven Tyler did on Elmopalooza 25 years ago :). Hope they take the time to get things in great, like newish, working order!!

I adore the Muppets and just want to see the LOVE! I've never ridden Rock 'N Roll Rollercoaster...too nervous I guess. With the Muppets, I'll give it a try. I really want more though, can you bring us a Muppet show?

It does seem like they are just pasting the Muppets over Aerosmith, but I'm here for it.

I never got to ride the Aerosmith version, so Muppets will be a new experience. Animal and the gang will make lots of fans happy!

I'm excited to see the new version of the ride, I enjoy the coaster and I don't think that part is changing at all.

I am excited and I hope they do more with Muppets! I say move the Villains show to MK when Villains land opens and use that space to build a Muppets Courtyard 2.0 and put a Muppets show in the building.

The first 2 songs for Muppets Rock N Rollercoaster have been released, they're Blur's "Song No. 2" and Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild", so a more modern song (Song No. 2 got released in 1997) and a more classic song (Born to be Wild is from 1968).

What do you think of the song list so far?

Oh, I think "Born to Wild" is a great choice!!! I thought that would work for Guardians, so now for the Muppets? YAY!

Literally fell out of my seat yesterday when I heard about Blur! Song 2 is perfect for this ride as is Born to be Wild! Sounds like I'm going to have to ride this over and over....

I like the songs they've picked so far!! There is a video on YouTube with Song 2 overlaid on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and it's perfect for this ride.

Maybe not the most Disney friendly but Nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit would be a good one. If we're thinking about Animal drumming, Dave Grohl is the human version.

The Muppets Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster opening date is officially set for May 26th, and this reimagined attraction is bringing a full Electric Mayhem concert experience to Hollywood Studios.

Even better, Disney has confirmed that Disney Vacation Club Members and Annual Passholders will get preview opportunities ahead of opening.

Expect a brand new storyline, celebrity cameos, and a rock-inspired setlist that turns this coaster into a full-on music experience.

oh wow!! I had said on FB last week that Walking on Sunshine would fit RnR perfectly! I'm shocked I guessed correctly.

Hoping for a super early sneak peek but we leave May 16th. I'll keep my fingers crossed though

My guess is that Walking on Sunshine will give the best experience. Song 2 is great but the energy is inconsistent, it could be fun but it has to line up exactly right.

Rock! Rock! is kind of a head scratcher, IMO. If you wanted to go glam metal- Alice Cooper is right there and he was on the show.

The new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets proves that sometimes small thematic updates can breathe brand new life into a classic attraction. Is it perfect? No. But Disney absolutely gave The Muppets the love and attention they deserved, and delivered something special for their fans.

From the music to the updated moments throughout the pre-ride experience, the attraction still keeps that fast paced coaster energy while adding a layer of fun and charm that just works.

It feels fresh. It feels fun. And most importantly… it feels very Muppets.

I love the Muppet theme and feel like it is a great fit for Hollywood Studios...dare I say, a better fit than Aerosmith.

Something of interest to note, well it was of interest to us. lol. We went to DHS for a few hours Sunday and while neither of us ride coasters, we are Muppets fans, so we wanted to check out the merch, and the R & R gift shop is only accessible if you ride the ride. I cant think of another gift shop like that off of the top of my head. I guess the rightfully assume you wouldt buy merch themed to that ride if you dont ride it, lol...They do have Muppets merch in a couple of the other stores in Sunset Blvd too.

I agree! I never rode the Aerosmith one; however, the Muppets got me on the ride! I loved it and bought Muppet merch.

We were there on Thursday night and they let us into the gift shop. I imagine it was only in the beginning. The merch is flying off the shelves. They also were understaffed.

I did get my Fozzie Bear shirt the next day.

Interesting. We asked a CM where the entrance to the gift shop was and he told us you only have access to it after you’ve ridden the ride.

I didn't see a cast member there. They both were at the cash registers. We just walked in. Don't know...maybe you have to try again.

Thanks, I was there yesterday wtih a friend that had never been so she rode the coaster for the first tine, and I totally forgot about the gift shop, Next time I go, I'll check again

I never rode Rock n Rollercoaster before, I was too chicken; however, it being Muppet themed I was going to do it. The queue and the pre show are worth the wait. I did the ride! I screamed the whole way, but loved it.

The old guys at the end made it just perfect. The only problem I have with the ride is how your head hits the headrest. I did my best to keep my head back. The upside down part didn't even bother me. I was worried..

I can't wait to do it again. I thought this retheme is a winner!
