We have used Scooterbug three times. Once there was a problem with the battery, but they came and swapped the scooter immediately. Since we are repeat customers, I ask if there is a discount and they always take 10% off. A few more dollars to give to Mickey!

You are lucky! My district is specifically says you cannot attach a personal day to a day off. They also say a personal day is not to be used for a vacation.

We usually give the unopened items to housekeeping. We ask if they would like the items and majority of the time they take it! I would rather do that than throw out. I like this idea too.
We have bought in for the OTUP that most have done. So that and activating the photo pass since we do one big trip is worth it to me. If we did not use the OTUP, I probably would not buy it. I love access to the lounges, but that isn't worth $99 to us. We could find a quick service restaurant to relax in if we had to.

For us it depends on where our room is compared to the fountains. If we are close, we buy for half the group. If we are far, no one gets one!

We are actually thinking of going Dec 20-22 this year since we have a wedding on the 19th. We are thinking just going to see the decorations since it will only be DH and I. However, we might do MVMCP if one is the 20 or 21. We know it will be pricey since it is right before Christmas.
I am a Northeast educator too. Late August is the best. Like DisQueen817 said, it is hot, but the crowds are low. Plus everything is AC. We like to do a late lunch table service meal on park days.
