Membership Magic Beyond — Yay or Nay?
I watched this weeks DVC show Love it or Leave it episode, and all the panelists said Nay to MMB. I dont know if that’s because they are locals or not, but I love the option.
For $99 I’m getting a $185 Memory maker plus the ability to use points for a Sorcerer’s AP if I want it (or have budgeted points for it) and 2 for 1 one time point purchase. Personally I think it’s a no-brainer.

Memory Maker, priority access to lounges, and bonus one-time-use-points make it worth it for us. Personally, the priority access to lounges alone is worth it.

I think the group's "nay" on MMB is due to 2 factors. First, MMB could be so much better (the fact that the Aulani print is a listed benefit is comical) Second, these perks could simply be given to direct members without an additional charge.
That being said, we bought MMB for 2 main reasons-- One time use points and lounge priority.
We have 2 toddlers (4 & 2) and when we're in the parks we really don't want to wait around to use the lounges. We spend most of our time in MK, and McKim's can be popular. This past week we were in town for our spring trip, and we jumped a very long line and got in to the lounge in under 5 minutes. That is a big plus for us.
The one time use points is an easy win, if you do buy them. We do often buy them, and this makes the math really easy.
All that being said- I'd love to see them plus up MMB.

Yeah - You pretty much nailed it here. Overall my business hat just says they can: 1) Offer More 2) Charge More.
I believe the program is a great idea, its just the execution that is lacking at this point.
My biggest problem with MMB is that I can't get it! It's only offered to those who live in the U.S. As a Canadian, I've called member services and emailed to voice my disappointment with not being eligible. Seems rather unfair. If it was available, I would buy it for the Memory Maker and priority lounge access benefits alone.

MMB has been fantastic! For $99, the exclusive character meet‑and‑greet In Epcot has been well worth it. There’s rarely a big crowd, and Mickey and Minnie spend so much time interacting. Some of our favorite Disney memories with our toddler have come from this meet‑and‑greet.

We used to renew our APs so yeah, it's great...
Renew AP is the biggest. The rest is just gravy!

Really?! I asked member services in December and they said the rules still hadn't changed. Perhaps that cast member was misinformed! Thank you so much for letting me know.

We just don't see the benefit for us. We have never been in a member lounge, using points for an AP is not appealing to us and we have never needed one time use points.

Yes, it could definitely be better.
Yes, I would definitely pay more if it were better.
However, for now...I will keep buying it as it is just for the 12 FREE one-time use points. Anything else I use is a bonus... :)

I'm a local but still give MMB a nay because I lose out on all the big ticket items: I wouldn't use my points for a Sorcerer Pass (just not enough value there for me), I already have the Photopass add-on for my AP, and I have actually only purchased OTU points once so far. But between Memory Maker and the OTU points, you're definitely getting good value out of MMB.
I would love to see more added to the program like quick service discounts or a Tables in Wonderland-like feature (I think my family spends the most on food than anything else) before I'd consider it.
Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!
Yay for our family. Hosted a large family trip during Easter break. My neices’ first trip so i wanted everything to be extra special. We don’t have AP as we live in the NE. The Memory Maker was worth it for that price alone. The late hours in the EPCOT loinge was a huge plus. Nice and quiet, a chance to recharge for a bit. The Mickey and Minnie meet and greet was wonderful! To maximize my investment I used the OTU points towards our Sept trip. Wish the Memory Maker was annual and not just a one and done.
We’re new to DVC (few months) and recently purchased Membership Magic Beyond (MMB) mainly for the One-Time-Use (OTU) points bonus on an upcoming stay. The member lounges also looked like a nice perk, but I was surprised to learn how the lounge benefits actually work.
From what I was told, the priority lounge access (and character experiences) is tied to the single enrolled Member. Other people on our contract — including the adult kids we added to the deed — can’t use the lounge benefit on their own. They would need their own MMB enrollment to access it independently.
Since the main reason we got MMB was the OTU point match, it doesn’t feel worth buying additional MMB memberships for the kids (they wouldn’t get extra OTU points, but would pay the same price).
Has anyone else run into this when adding family members to the deed? Do most people just have the primary MMB holder go with the group when they want to use the lounges, or is there another workaround?
I’m realizing now that if I had known this ahead of time, I probably would have enrolled one of our more frequent park-goers in MMB instead.
Our family always purchases Memory Maker each trip so that alone made it worth it for us this year.

I purchased last year and this year. Renewing my AP is definitely worth it to me. Last year also bought points (12/12). The lounge priority is a nice perk and used it twice this year and will do so again end of year.
