You may or may not get notified if your waitlist comes through. It’s always hit and miss for us.

If it hasn’t come through by the 7 month mark just book what’s available. I can’t remember now if you can modify your waitlist to cancel your 7 month booking if it comes through or if you have to cancel and redo it.

You will sometimes get an e-mail that your waitlist will come through. If you were waitlisting and asked it to replace another reservation - sometimes you'll get the notice of cancellation first - which induces a heart attack until you check your dashboard. Noe that if you book another alternate resort, that does NOT cancel the waitlist. However if you have insufficient points it won't book it unless you authorize it to borrow points. I would suggest periodically checking the calendar as sometimes it's available and the waitlist doesn't pick it up.

I have also found the notification to be hit or miss. One time, DVC actually called me. I was shocked. I would continue to check your waitlisted dates manually. There have been a few times that I have found the room I needed before the waitlist cleared.

Normally when a waitlist comes through for me I know about it when I get the email entitled, "We Can't Wait to Welcome You Home."

In 2022 we had a waitlist for three nights in a studio in October in the Grand Californian. I got the notification email during a Disney Cruise in May of that year when we were doing our port call in Grand Cayman. That was pretty cool.

Like others said, sometimes I'm emailed with a Welcome Home and other times not and I just find the reservation on my dashboard. I'd recommend checking availability frequently during the end of April until mid May because that is when the 7th month mark hits for a December 4th reservation. If a Boulder Ridge owner currently holds a BRV reservation and wants to swap into another resort at the 7th month mark, they will potentially be doing that in early May. I'm suggesting looking frequently during the day and night for reservations starting in April in case they have a reservation that is November 30-December 7th for example. You might be able to grab a day or two at a time at BRV and eventually get all your desired dates. Although not many people will trade out of BRV in December, it does happen. I had an early December 2025 BRV reservation that I had to let go of last year, so people do have a change of plans. Grab whatever days you can because the waitlist will only grab it if the entire amount of days are available. Best of luck!!
