Membership Minimums

Its been 150 for awhile, I'm not sure I see it increasing in a meaningful way anytime soon unless DVC decides to continue inflating value of a DVC point. Like if you compare how much a Deluxe Studio costs per night at Boardwalk vs Riviera the difference can be significant - if the next resorts continue that trend of increasing the points per night then it might make sense to increase the direct benefit point minimum to 175 or 200 to account for that.

I see them going straght to 200 points for the next bump, and probably around the time LSL going on sale. Reason being is the new point charts on all the new resorts make having just 150 points not enough for many decent stays at said new resorts.

Yeah I agree with you. That's exactly what I am thinking. And why I think this summer I'll be pulling the trigger on a direct contract at the Poly. I wasn't wanting to buy a direct contract so soon, but I'd rather get the "benefits" at 150 points than 200.

That’s exactly what we did just a few months ago, picked up a 150 point Poly contract because it’s the last on sale property that will not be subject to resell restrictions if and when we need to sell them.

Seems like a lot of us have that idea! 😅 Because right now the incentives for Poly are not very strong. But still, I'd rather buy 150 points at 2026 prices, than 200 at 2027 prices 😬

I agree. I am speculating with Josh in charge, we as DVC members are their main customers and they will increase to 175 points direct buy in with LSL. Its the main reason I just bought direct Poly this april because I am assuming its coming soon. I also had FOMO for not doing the Poly Towers back in 2024 and that is also what made me join the bandwagon of direct owners.

The big question there is, WHEN does LSL go on sale? All signs point to Riviera being completely sold out sometime this year. I think just before LSL goes on sale, that's when minimums are raised. To me the biggest mystery is does it go up by 25 or 50 points?

And absolutely none of this is helping me decide what to do. I thought I wanted Poly, but now I'm leaning towards Disneyland. Unfortunately I don't make my first visit there until January '27.

Based on past increases, would there be any sort of advance notice of a coming increase? Or would it just all of a sudden be higher?

We were at WDW a week ago and i got chatting with a dvc guide. He opened up and said they’re operating like LSL will go on sale sometime shortly after the fiscal year starts in October.

You never know how accurate that will be, but just a data point
