Very much looking forward to this update to CoP! I hope disney is seeing the positive responses to these refreshes and keeps them coming. Going down in july 6, I wonder how fast they can turn this around as it would be great to see this when i go in feb 2027!
I have mixed feelings. Loved the history of seeing how the world worked at the turn of the century, 1920s and 1940s. This feels less 'historical' and more recent / futuristic focused - which I guess is the theme of the song! "It's a great big, beautiful tomorrow."
Instead of 1960/1980/2000/Future, it would have been neat to see them do a broader timeline so you could truly see the huge jumps in technological differences and daily life between the eras.
Something like this for the scene changes:
-Opening with Walt
-1900
-1950
-2000
-Future
That being said, it looks like they'll do a good job on the refurb.

Ah yes that historical perspective is enjoyable (Gilded age is my favorite show these days!) but i do see this ride as offering the younger ones a glimpse into the lives of their grandparents generation. So it allows for those fun conversations and meaningful connections.
I have mixed feelings too. I am all for an update but I wasnt sure I wanted the entire attraction updated , I would have been ok with the finale changing but not sure how I feel about the whole thing changing. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and wait to see how it turns out.

Was abound to happen as it has happened many times before, this time just the longest between updates (major updates that is). This is way better than them closing the attraction entirely, which I believe was the plan at one point or two.

Agreed, I would much rather see an update than a permanent closure. While I will miss the current iteration, progress is literally in the attraction's name, and given the recent attraction refurbs, I'm optimistic that this can be a good change.
Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!
