We love the Poly. We held out to be able to purchase Poly as our first DVC contract! We usually stay in the Moorea longhouse with Lake view or what they call preferred view today. We can’t wait to stay in the tower for one of our next trips.
We enjoyed a evening mini-golfing. We went right after some storms rolled through, so we had to wait a little for them to clean up and open. We golfed straight through with hardly anybody there.
Another thing is DVC can match whatever UY your resale contract is in. Sometimes it's harder to find a resale contract in the same UY as your direct contract.
Pretty well thought out. I had some of the same concerns with Riv and as long as you aren't wanting the value or club rooms at AKL, availablity at the 7 month is good. You have to decided which resort is right for you and your family. The motto around here is to buy where you want to stay. Direct DVC prices are always
Add more points if you are consistently short. You can also find someone to transfer points to you or you can rent the remaining nights through rental or from Disney.
Yes, you can only add to your reservation which is limited by the room capacity. I have heard that they have been checking for room reservations sporadically, especially when the pools are busy.
That's good to know. We might have to stay in the Tower next time.

They do have MFA, but only for the loan section of the site. I do wish they would implement it for the whole site.
So sad, nothing beats walking out and getting in DCA within a couple of minutes.
You don't need to buy the Membership Magic Beyond to get a Sorcerer's Pass unless you are planning on using points to purchase it. Being able to buy that AP is tied to being eligible for direct benefits. The AP year starts on the date you enter a park, but you can buy if within a year of when you want to activate it.
I don’t think they announced the exact timing, but this post on DVCFan says late 2026.
The system will use banked/borrowed points, then use the current points. If you are worried about "What ifs", you could only bank the number of points that you need to book the 2027 trip and then bank the rest later before your banking deadline.
Yes, as long as they are Riv points on the same membership (same UY) . If your home resort is anywhere else, then only the direct points would be available for use.
I think Sept or Oct would be a great UY for you. Dec UY might be tricky as the first 2 weeks are the most popular in DVC and you might start your trip a day or 2 at the end of November. If you are thinking the end of Dec for your trips, then a Dec UY would be good since your banking deadline would be July 31st.
No risk except that once banked, they are stuck in the next UY. Honestly, once I know I need those points for the next UY, I'll bank them so I have them available when it's time to book the trip. We don't do last minute trips and have our next 2-3 trips planned.
We loved California Grill! It was our favorite until they moved to the prix fixe menu. The brunch was excellent and that Bloody Mary bar was delicious!
