On the fence about DVC resale...

We bought Poly specifically because it’s the longest lasting on sale resort that doesn’t have restrictions. I actually don’t know how often we will actually stay there, maybe once here or there, but we’ll probably never need the 11th month window :(

On the fence about DVC resale...

Just remember that if you have to sell RIV, any perspective buyer can only use those points at RIV. If you never plan on selling, that’s wouldn’t be an issue but just know that if you have to get rid of the contract for one reason another that will be the case. Poly doesn’t have the same restriction.

On the fence about DVC resale...

Getting that 150 point level today before they inevitably increase it for Member benefits is not a bad idea for sure if it’s something that is important to you. (we’ve certainly made use of ours) I personally only have direct contracts because the FOMO is real, including recently, picking up a poly contract for similar

Already for 2042

There is zero chance that if DVC keeps printing money like it does today that this happens. They will be reassociated into a new associationwith a brand new point chart that already scares me of what they would be in 2042/2043.

Point charts

We travel with 5 usually so we usually go with a 1 Bedroom which means OKW/SSR/AKV if we really want tto stretch out points and have a bit more space. We are eyeing BLT for a future trip because it has the best points chart on the monorail loop.

Arrival day strategy

I remember the long travel days before moving local and I'd never schedule anything day of arrival because delays are inevitible. Quick meal and straight to bed to get ready bright and early the next morning.

This is the correct answer, IMO. Is direct better, yup, but you pay for it. Resale still gets you access to the same rooms, same point charts same 11 month booking window. I'd still stay away from anything Riviera and newer with regards to resale. You can always have both direct and resale points, so resale today and d

How to stay at Riviera with resale points?

Renting points, trading points (maybe someone with Riviera wants to trade for BLT), or cash stays through Disney. It’s actually possible to have a cash stays that’s cheaper than the equivalent of using points if you figure ~$20 per point retail value for some resorts when there is a sale. We actually had a cash stay at

Addonitis- where will you add on next?

Just added onto with a new Poly contract, but we’re already eyeing a possible BLT contact as it’s the most economical of the monorail resorts. And I reeeally like the Joey Chou art! Really am interested in Lakeshore Lodge but not sure we’ll ever buy one of the resale restricted properties, even direct.
