I think this is good, and I hope it continues beyond the July 4th holiday. I've already seen multiple FB news stories circulating about how the "SSR loophole" remains now that you can't take DS buses. I would never discount cheapskates and their ability to find whatever loophole they can find. If you're staying at a WDW resort, cool, you're welcome to visit SSR. If your'e not, I see no reason why you should have free and easy access to SSR buses or pools.

I have used Ace Luxury Transportation twice. We had a party of nine going from MCO to the cruise port and back. They use very nice vehicles and provided car seats for the kids. My mother in law needed a restroom break, the driver (Adam) stopped at the closest gas station and even went inside to make sure the place was clean first. We used them again for a group of seven (kids and car seats again) for airport transportation from Pop Century back in February. I will call them first every time.

That would definitely make me look for a different transportation service next time, because the ride to the resort should feel like the start of the vacation, not something that adds stress. When I'm comparing private transfers, I usually pay attention to recent feedback about on-time pickups, clear communication, and drivers who are courteous and let passengers enjoy the ride. I have noticed FS Premier Transport mentioned in a few transportation discussions, so its another name to include when you are comparing different options. Have you narrowed your choices down yet, or are you still looking for recommendations from other Disney visitors?

Who is walking from DS to SSR to use the pools? You have to be pretty hard up for a pool to want to do that. The pools at SSR are fine but they are not that great and they certainly are not a convenient walk from DS. I have to believe a lot of this stuff Disney is doing is specific to peak times (such as 4th of July weekend). It's one thing to check people at the DS bus stand but to start doing this all over the place will get onerous in terms of cast member staffing.

Aloha! In Sept., school is in session so the crowds won’t be too bad at that time. Weekends tend to be more crowded (locals) than weekdays and especially being by the adult pool, it’ll be wide open even at 7am. The other pool areas should be more crowded, since its a high demand area to swim unlike the adult pool, but nothing like spring break crowds. We’re currently here now (6:52am by the pool, got here at 5:55am) for the 4th of July weekend and the 4th is by far one of the most busiest days and everything was gone by 7:15am. Show more

The June 2026 DVC Resale Market ROFR report is now available, and the overall trend remains consistent with what we've seen throughout the year. Disney exercised Right of First Refusal on contracts at five resorts this month: Old Key West: 3 buybacks Grand Californian: 3 buybacks Grand Floridian: 2 buybacks Animal Kingdom: 1 buyback Disneyland Hotel: 1 buyback The most interesting buyback wasn't necessarily the number—it was the Disneyland Hotel contract itself. Disney purchased back a 1,500-point Disneyland Hotel contract that sold for $105 per point, or roughly $157,500. While it's unusual to see Disney exercise ROFR on an actively selling resort, this one makes a lot of sense. A contract that size can easily be returned to direct inventory and resold at current direct pricing, making it a very attractive acquisition. Looking at the broader market, ROFR activity continues to remain relatively low. Year-to-date through June 2026: 63 contracts bought back 1,652 contracts sold 3.8% buyback rate 96.2% waiver rate The overall buyback rate is also 5.1 percentage points lower than this point in 2025, reinforcing the trend that ROFR has become less of an obstacle for most resale buyers. Grand Floridian (14.8%) and Old Key West (10.4%) continue to be the primary resorts to watch, while most other resorts have experienced very little buyback activity this year. Yes, my son and I used to cruise on Royal Caribbean; however, I fell in love on the Treasure with my friends. The cast members are unbelievably awesome! It really changes the cruise experience. On Royal while it is cheaper, I find them asking for upgrades constantly...they are in your face. "Don't you want another drink", "don't you want the spa package"? I couldn't even enjoy the pool without being bothered. Will I sail Royal again? Yes... However, my son was skeptical about going to Alaska. "What will I do?", "how much fun will it be being so cold", all things he said. After losing my husband two years ago, my son & I have really bonded on our Disney trips. So...I thought I would see if sailing Disney would be the same. It was more than I could have imagined. I'm not sure how they knew who to sit at our table, but we had the best people dining with us. They had a mom with a 21 year old that my son bonded with a tad. Saying that, he loved the adults moreso. We laughed so much at dinner. After the cruise, I found a post on Instagram my son made...he had pictures from a night he walked around on the top deck at midnight and the words "I fell in love". It warmed this mom's heart. Apparently, he wanted to see the Northern Lights. And he is not an outdoorsy guy. Can you save money on another line? Yes. Can you see different ports? Yes. That said, this was the best memory, bonding experience my son & I could have. Disney cruise lines will always be my first choice going forward.

Oh my it was the best! We sailed on the Wonder from May 18-25. The weather was chilly, but the rain held for us almost the entire trip. Ketchikan and Juneau are known for it's rain, but Ketchikan we had clear skies. The boat is intimate and the cast members are fantastic! My son who is 23, I wasn't sure if he'd like it. He fell in love! The beauty of Alaska is unreal, you just can't capture it in pictures. We did the Sled Dogs, Gold panning, and the White Pass Railway in Skagway. Highly recommend! We saw a momma bear and cubs on the mountain via the railway. We did the Mendenhall Glacier and Salmon Bake in Juneau. Also, great! We had time to mosey around the Juneau town before getting back on the ship. Ketchikan - we did a wildlife exploration and crab feast. We saw eagles and seals on this trip. We pulled up crab pots and got the history of the waterways & crabbing. Oh my you get 1 1/2 to eat all the dungeoness crab you can eat. We saw the most stunning rainbow on the ride back to the ship. We want to go again! My next visit, I'd do later in the year to see if we could catch more wildlife. You will LOVE it! Any questions, I'm happy to answer.

I agree with the above advice! We have gone to Disney multiple times the past 4 years but most recently we went this May with a 3.5 year old and 18month old. Polynesian is our favorite splash playground hands down! It is slightly larger than the other splash playgrounds and would probably be a hit for all 3 kids! The only downfall for us was that its open to the big pool and I did worry about if they ran off without me seeing (we watch closely and stay with them but still a worry as a parent). Kidani village at Animal Kingdom has a large splash area that was really fun for the 18month old but just not as exciting for my adventurous 3 year old. Although it did have a lot of shade over the splash area which was nice! Both kids loved Riviera’s splash playground and Port Orleans French Quarter (although not DVC) which are both fenced in and not many blind spots so no worry about them running off and we actually got to sit and watch them just play for a bit which is rare at our kid’s ages! We haven’t stayed at Wilderness or Grand Floridian but the splash playgrounds there look similar and a lot of fun! For your 4 and 7 year old, there are also bigger slides that go into the main pool (my 3 year old loved them but he wore a complimentary life jacket since he only recently began swim lessons). All DVC resorts have some sort of water slide in the main pool but some are better than others. resortsgal.com/pools/water-slides/ has a good article on each of them if you want to look yourself! Lastly, I will agree with other’s comments above that the entry to the slide for Stormalong at Beach Club is outside the main pool area and the lazy river is 9 ft deep in some places so some parents don’t feel comfortable with those things. We haven’t been but don’t plan to until the kids are older. We really haven’t had a bad pool at any of the DVC resorts so whichever you pick is sure to be fun!
