No. I closed on a resale contract just a few weeks ago and it took 7 days from the date the deed was recorded and Disney was told about the transfer. I've seen many reports of similar timelines from others. I think most title companies just keep saying 4-6 weeks because it used to take that long and, you never know when Disney could start taking longer.

I'm back from my trip and Sunday the 16th was my Epic day. We got done what we wanted to but that probably wouldn't have happened without Early Park Admission (stayed at Portofino). We got Ministry, Hiccups Wing Gliders, Dragon Racers Rally, Monsters Unchained and Curse of the Werewolf done before 11:30am. The only wait was Werewolf. Exited the park around 12:30 and returned at 6:15pm (it was brutally hot. We had uv umbrellas but still). Did Stardust, ate dinner in Berk then off to Super Marioworld. Those waits were still high but we were there to look not ride . Very busy and chaotic with the music/noise. Back to Darkmoor! Monsters Unchained again, capped the night with Stardust Racers. So, a fun day! I only had the one day and I planned the hell out of this in advance and luckily it all worked out well. My son had a hopper and went back to Epic another night as well as he fell in love with Monsters Unchained. I wish we had time for the shows and if it was cooler we could have spent the day without leaving but that was not happening. Ministry and the Mario wait times never went down at night like all the blogs said (Yoshi did though) so I'm glad we didn't care about Mario and did Ministry first.

We did use DVC travel insurance years ago. Now we only purchase it outside of DVC only when cruising or leaving the country. For people who travels multiple times a year (DVC/non DVC), you can purchase a yearly policy for all your trips. I have not done this but read there is one. When we went to Italy on our own, I purchased mainly for medical reasons. Did not know that was an option until I called to ask some questions (don't remember if it was Alliance or Travelguard at the moment).

I own at two resorts and was not a problem when the kids were young and were in the same villa with us. If we needed extra points at one resort stay, I would borrow. Now that the kids (two out of three) own their own DVC contract at another resort (three with mine/use some of my points), it became difficult to stay at the same resort when we all want to travel together (4 bookings). We have had some luck with waitlisting. It is nice to have multiple resorts and have enough in each to cover one complete stay. Pick and choose which one you want to stay in when your 11 month window opens up and it is necessary to book at that time. When you want a larger villa, extra villas for yourself, family or friends - you might not be together. It's all good. Just our travels plans/patterns change daily or down the road. If my sons had one of my same resort, it would have been nice/easier :)

April made sense at the time - I think - not sure if that is UY they were selling or it was recommended for our travel needs. We did not understand it 100% - at least not as much as a few years later once we started using DVC. Years down the road, it did not become the best UY since we were close to/became empty nesters and we traveled just the two of us mostly March/April and Fall. We managed but the Spring stays were always, "what if we have to cancel".

I booked a cash stay after a year of research - I wanted to go stay at, not just tour, the resort before deciding. I had such a grand plan. Then I added up how much we'd spent on lodging during the previous 12 months and I was blown away. I called to buy points the next day. Didn't even make it to our cash stay. 🤣 DVD easily converted our cash booking into points, so our first time on the property was also our first stay. We love it! VGC will likely be our next purchase as I've always loved that resort, but we're absolutely delighted with VDH. No regrets.

We rocked. We rolled. And we loved it… 🎸🎢 The new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets proves that sometimes small thematic updates can breathe brand new life into a classic attraction. Is it perfect? No. But Disney absolutely gave The Muppets the love and attention they deserved, and delivered something special for their fans. From the music to the updated moments throughout the pre-ride experience, the attraction still keeps that fast paced coaster energy while adding a layer of fun and charm that just works. It feels fresh. It feels fun. And most importantly… it feels very Muppets. What did you think of the changes? 🎶

After two years we had made back what we were at the break even point. Now, for a treat, I’ll book a two day add on at the end of a stay just to get that pampered feeling again. Pro-tip — if you do it as a bounce back, you’ll get a discount over rack rates. So if you’re adding onto an existing DVC reservation you can call when you arrive and get the bounce back offer for the end of your stay.

We will hold until 2042. Its our favorite resort and we originally bought it with the intent of being done with dvc in 2042. I didnt like the idea of paying dues for forever. especially once my kids are grown and hopefully hustling in college to make a life. But of course the dvc bug bit us. We bought a small BLT contract so that we have extra points to have one bedrooms now. Then once our kids are grown, it can be a fun trip for me and my husband to go every other year. Win now and win later.

We originally got the Sorcerers pass after getting the blue card and the savings on that vs the Incredi-pass were pretty significant, more or less offsetting the maintenance fees on the 150 pt contract. However the Christmas week is now back in our annual rotation of trips to Florida so we are back to the more expensive pass. As long as you make two trips to Disney buying a pass is probably worth it

It is obviously a very personal decision, but we made the jump to get to 150 this year and are very thankful we did. We are hybrid now, and having the blue card does make a difference. The discount is better on DVC than the visa, lounge access is great, and you get the flexibility of using your points at the newer resorts. While you haven't done annual passes previously, you may end up changing that in the future. (We live in Chicagoland, get down to WDW 1-2 times per year. You can very easily save money by getting the Sorcerer's Pass). All that to say- if you're looking for a guy to help support it, I'm here for ya! We love the blue card and would recommend it.

With all the media talking about Cool Kids Summer, I've seen a few articles mention that Disney has added more room amenities that you can request for younger kids, including: Bed bumpers instead of bedrails (I feel like this happened a little while back technically.) Bottle warmers and sterilizers Infant bathtubs Diaper disposal units Night lights Bathroom step stools (I really hope the newer DVC refurbs will include these--the one at Kidani was so helpful!)

I think your mind is already made up since you used the term "overpay". Overpay means lack of value. However, I would vote for getting the blue card when you can and being hybrid owners with all of the benefits. I generally subscribe to buy it nice or cry twice (or buy once cry once). That also means you shouldn't get AKL just because there's a flash sale unless you really love AKL. If you don't care where, I'd suggest Poly, which will have a longer contract and better retention of value. Alternatively, I'd consider adding on at VGF so that you can have a better home booking advantage. Go with whatever you feel is right for you and your family.

I just completed this with a $100 "test" transaction and got 11x rewards points. Since those points can usually be redeemed for 1.25 cents per point (when used to "pay yourself back" for eligible purchases), the 1100 points is worth $13.75 making this 13.75% off. If you redeem points for travel, you can often get 2+ cents per point.

We have stayed AKL CL many times, only on points, I'd never pay cash prices, its worth it on points for sure. Especially for us beause we are local and go to the parks a lot, so when we go to AKL CL its just to relax. chill, and take advantage of the amenities( mostly the food and drinks lol) . I think if you aren't going to be in the parks open to close its defiinitely worth it. But if you are a go all day kinda parks person, and you're just at the resort to sleep. then its not worth it even on points.

I'd be curious to hear how others make it work with multiple UYs. We own 125 resale at Copper Creek and are thinking of 150 direct with Poly this summer. I'm tempted to stagger the use years for the purposes of Magical Beginnings but don't know if that would end up being a huge mistake. Coincidentally we have done split stays each time we've been to WDW with points since purchasing, so it might be manageable, but I'm sure its hard to know beforehand.

I'm still in research mode so I'm just parroting what I've heard in podcasts and videos but... Location doesn't matter between WDW, DL, and Aulani. Different use year will mean a different member number. You have to call Member Services to use the points together. It sounds like unless you have zero intention to ever use points from both contracts on one trip it is better to keep 1 UY for everything.
