Great update! 2 contracts they seem to like going after!

Sold 2 of our contracts recently and like to see the improvement in times in Jan it took 3 weeks to get through ROFR this last one took 5 days!!

He DOES exist!!!

Hey ROFR Monster, when bragging about OKW buybacks, please tell us what expiration year you just bought!

I’ve spent some time learning the ROFR Monsters language and vocabulary the past few years. I believe he will mention if it is an extended contract but otherwise will just call it Old Key West for 2042 contracts. 😉

Thanks, Paul. So if I'm reading the ROFR reports correctly, Disney is focusing on buying back the 2042's... Given the "fiasco" that Derek talks about when the extension upgrade was offered as an option in 2007.

Sounds like they would love to just make it a 2057 resort by manually improving the low upgrade rate?

I first want to thank you for creating these forums. I feel much more comfortable posting here than Facebook. I wanted to add a data point that would be outside DVC Resale data. Derek, sorry we would have loved to buy through you, but this contract was just right for us and through another broker. Anyway, we bought a 160 point boardwalk for $105 and it passed ROFR on 4/8. I know the ROFR monster hasn’t been at Boardwalk, but we hadn’t seen a price that low there on any ROFR reports, so we weren’t sure. I just wanted to provide the data point and thank the team for the forum and all of the great content.

Actually, we’re kinda grateful to ROFR Monster for gobbling up an OKW contract we bid on several years ago, figuring we’d mostly use the points for sleeping around. (That’s trying other DVC resorts for you newbies who may not know the term.)

After the monster munched it up, we realized OKW wasn’t for us anyway. Whew!

Well, well, well. This is a first. Usually the letters I get from buyers are... less complimentary. You should see my inbox — it's mostly strongly-worded emails and the occasional rant written in points chart.

Let me see if I remember this one. OKW, several years ago, destined to be traded away for a stay somewhere else... yes, yes, that one was particularly tasty. Went down easy. Pairs well with a crisp Shutters chardonnay, for those wondering.

I do love it when my work serves a higher purpose. Call it "vault-guided intervention." You thought you were getting a cheap way to sleep around the World. I thought you deserved better. Turns out we were both right.

ROFR Monster - I just sent an AKL contract your way, but I would suggest not even taking a sniff at it, let alone a bite. You see, as this contract was making its way from AKL over to your contract buffet, the blustery wind grabbed it and sent it tumbling across the savannah. At first I thought it had rested upon a tasty Zebra dome… but alas, it was not. When catching up to the tumbling contract… it was indeed on a pile of giraffe pooh (and we’re not talking about the Winnie kind) 🦒 💩; making this a very unappealing contract. If you do take a sniff or even a bite, no worries, I’m already a proud AKL DVC owner, but my nieces and nephews may hunt you down if they have to keep taking turns instead of taking combined cousins trips! Fair warning! 😃
