Didn't see one, so I created this thread for us to discuss, speculate, build excitement, etc. Who's with me? What are you looking forward to (or not)?
Kinda surprised on the time line considering lake shore lodge looks like it is almost ready to open now. I wonder if they will add a restaurant to it and will the lake shore lodge share buses with the wilderness lodge or if they will put fort wilderness with lake shore lodge bus wise and condo assication wise. Could they add the monorail there would be a interesting question

I don’t like the resale restriction limiting use to only one resort. ( is that right or is is limiting to Riviera resort plus anything later?). Are the Fort Wilderness Cabins under resale restriction currently? A walkway to Wilderness Lodge from Fort Wilderness would be great. However, I would really like a walkway from Wilderness to the TTC/Poly.
We are VERY interested in owning here. We are in the market for direct points so we can start staying at other resorts besides the orginal 14. Super excited to see the price per point and the incentives. Hopefully, they are good. Excited about the potential of the pool area!

I'm excited to stay at LSL, as it is another MK option. Not sure about buying any points there though....looks like a big resort, with plenty of availability for the foreseeable future for those available to use their DVC points. That said, if there is a sweetheart deal on the table...well, never say never (looking at you, add-on-itis!).

The resale restriction (if it's like the restriction on the prior new DVC resorts) would be that anyone that buys a resale contract for the Lakeshore Lodge would only be able to use the points there and nowhere else. However, we haven't seen the contract restrictions for it yet, so DVC could roll different restrictions. Stay tuned!

I hope they call the whole pool complex River Country.
Seems like they are working on this train of thought at the Fort's newly added and finally opened pool area!
The Palmetto Trust
Can someone please break down for me what exactly the Palmetto Trust is? My primary interest is on what speculation there may be as to how this may or may not have an impact how the Lakeshore Lodge association may be structured. I understand it is all conjecture at this point but for those that understand it, what leads you to believe that LL would or would not be rolled into CCV or even The Cabins at Fort Wilderness?

https://dvcfan.com/news/fort-wilderness-cabin-deeds-confirm-ownership-in-dvc-trust-product/ has a very good explanation of the trust product. LSL will likely have a trust product but it probably wont be the same as CFW. (just my opinion, there has been nothing said to this regard)

Some new concept art - this place has some serious Aulani vibes - https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2026/04/30/exclusive-close-up-look-at-disneys-new-lakeshore-lodge-hotel/
Oh, and those a-frames are going to cost an absurd amount of points. I'm betting more than the Copper Creek Cabins and the Poly Bungalows.
so here is my question will the lake shore lodge help to lower the price of the rest of the resorts and is this the disney answer to 2042 contracts that will expire?

As far as lowering prices to the other resorts, in sure that is not their intent but adding supply will likely have its normal impact certain times of the year. If anything, it will increase availability and allow more people to stay onsite during those high demand times. But in slower seasons, yes- more rooms can affect the prices overall to drive demand.
As far as the 2042 portion, who knows what their plan or intentions are regarding that 🤷♂️. Most believe the decision makers arent really thinking about it because they will be long gone and it will be someone elses problem. I am sure, however, the decision making in say 5-6 years will be much more pointed towards those resorts expiring.

Since Lakeshore Lodge is so large, I'm hoping it will be relatively easy to book at the 7-month window. Not really interested in owning, if it can be had at 7-months.
But I also expect it to be high points. We always stay 1BR, but have opted to not try Poly Tower yet (even though we can snag 1BRs at 7 months) because the points are cray cray. We feel pretty spoiled to often stay at high-point resorts like Riviera and VGF, but Poly is even higher 😳.
Hoping LL isn't that high.

Does it look like the room layouts will be similar to the Poly Tower? With our Poly points already, it may be nice to have a room that has a different overall layout rather than the same thing with different interior design.
Not in the market for adding on points. I also hope it won't be difficult to book at the 7 month window. Definitely want to stay here. Can't wait to walk around/have a meal.
There are many members asking which resort would be great for a resort only stay. This one could be up there.

looks like they are. I think this is the new DVC floor plans. They are also similar to DLH. For a different layout you will have to stick with the older resorts such as AKV or BWV.

Same! Our pick for Resort Only is AK Jambo House. Of course a lot can be said for almost any resort!

It will be interesting to see the room type distribution because that will determine how easy it is to get reservations at 7 months. Meaning, some room types will be easier than others and while you may be able to get a room, you may not be able to get the type of room you want.
I noticed the Disney Tourist Blog article speculates that the "Resort Studios" will be the primary room type at this resort and that these rooms will be similar to the rooms at Big Pine Key (also called Resort Studios). If that is the case, I just hope they are better than the rooms at Big Pine Key because it my blunt opinion, those rooms suck. Although I will note I am intrigued by the Resort Studio King Rooms with a single king sized bed, nice idea for just two people.
