Resort boats! Nothing better at the end of a busy night at MK than walking past the enormous monorail and ferry lines to a relatively short wait for our resort boat back to VGF. :)

Yes! That was my favorite, too. The soothing sound of the boat horn as you are heading to or from a park?! Come on! And it’s such a relaxing mode of travel…the soft rocking of the water is a perfect way to get from point A to point B amid the sometimes hectic days of park hopplng. It’s the best!

I think context matters a lot here. Where am I staying? Where am I going? What time of day is it? etc.

That being said- we own at Bay Lake Tower and Poly. MK is by far our favorite park. We're most often going to be staying at BLT, and you cannot beat the walk. It takes me about 8 minutes from the front door of BLT to being at the turnstile of MK.

I love the Monorail. I know it's slow, and I would avoid it during peak times, but it really is a great way to get around. Skyliner is good for the limited places it services, I would love for it to go further.

Sleeper pick- we absolutely love Minnie Vans. Yes they're expensive, but the cast members who drive those cars are some of the best on property, and they are a blast for our toddlers who get to watch cartoons on the drive. They also get to bypass so many restrictions (you can visit another resort without a reservation, etc) that we find ourselves taking one every trip.

I hate to admit how much we love the Minnie Vans. 😏

We really do try to reserve their use for when we are just really tired or as you suggest want a more reliable way to get to a resort directly.

Context can definitely play into it, but the question is more about which mode of transportation you would take if it was your choice. Generally speaking, what do you enjoy more?

For me, the boats are so relaxing especially on a nice day. They cant be beat. The monorail is iconic with Disney, so it is fairly solidified at number two just due to nostalgia…I love taking rhe monorail because it just feel like Disney. The Skyliner is fun and unique, but it can sometimes be unreliable and is fairly limited on places it goes (it would be a home run if they ran the Skyliner to AKL and Animal Kingdom theme park). And it can get really warm in the Skyliner. The WDW busses get a bad rap, IMO. Maybe it’s because we don’t ride the bus at home, but the bus system at WDW feels very “Disney”. Finally, I enjoy walking and would have no problem walking from Epcot to Hollywood Studios, or from Magic Kingdom to Polynesian. That said, I walk every day and when I am in WDW I prefer to take one of their modes of transportation that I don’t get to take at home. Rideshare comes in last for me. The last thing I want to do is pay more money just to go from point A to point B. I have done it, mind you, but I feel gross when I do. 😂

So my personal ranking is Boats, Monorail, Skyliner, Bus, Walking, Rideshare.

We will have to try the Minnie Vans. We haven’t done that yet, mostly due to the cost.

Walking! We own at BWV and I absolutely dread bus days. Even with tired feet at the end of a long day I love being able to stroll out of International Gate back to the Boardwalk. Even that loooong trek to and from Hollywood Studios is somewhat enjoyable (though I do think they should give you a runDisney medal at the end). We also own at Grand Cal where walking is literally the only way to go.

The Skyliner is staring to grow on me even though I used to find it terrifying. I really hope they expand it to more resorts and parks.

Skyliner all the way! My Mom uses an electric wheelchair/ EVC and it is such a quick on and off experience with a gondola to ourselves. I'm not a fan of heights, but the convenience outweighs the fear.

Disney should definitely extend the Skyliner to Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom resorts. Total no-brainer. That would make them feel a little more connected to the rest of WDW.

The Skyliner was my pick. Would love to see it expanded. If I could pick a 2nd in the poll, it would be walking. I really liked the ability to walk to HS and EPCOT during our stay at BWV earlier this year.

Walking is my favorite--you can go at your own pace without any wait, and there's no need to collapse the stroller! Runner up would be the Skyliner since my son loves it. I'm pretty sure he considers it a ride in its own right.

Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!

Most of our stays have been at OKW, SSR & AKV so other than a boat ride or walking to DS, we have mostly used the Buses. The Skyliner is more of an attraction to us than a mode of transportation. Its been shut down a bunch of times during trips where we have stayed near it and we travel in July and it can be a little warm. I am torn on adding on to it to connect to AKV, as I think having just the buses keeps traffic down at the resort too.

I went back and forth between boats and walking, but at the end of the day being within walking distance of a park just can't be beat for me. However, I do love a boat ride!! So relaxing - unless you're stuck standing at the end of a long day.

After that, I'd say skyliner followed closely by bus. Dead last is the monorail. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I'm simply not a fan. I hate the mad rush to get on and the stress of finding a car with enough room. "Should we grab this one? Is there a better one ahead? Oh no, we should a have grabbed the last one!"

Honestly, I am shocked to see the Monorail getting beat so badly in this poll. It’s iconic with Disney. I thought more people would vote for it just for that reason alone.

We used to love the monorail a lot more. The last several times we've ridden it's been super crowded and we were lucky if we got to sit down. Getting on at the Contemporary feels a bit like the Hunger Games.

I just love walking at WDW. If there’s a path somewhere on property, I want to walk it. I really hope there’s going to be a trail between WL and Campgrounds when the new resort opens.

Yeah, it can get busy. But it depends when you try to ride it. If it’s after park closing, it is JAMMED. However, we have really good luck and don’t run into it being too busy when we are riding it mid-day. The monorail has a special place in my heart…it’s so Disney!
