FAVORITE Holiday at WDW
This is a toss up between Halloween and Christmas for me, but our last stay was from 10/31-11/8 and we got to see the transformation in real time. We attended the last MNSSHP and the first MVMCP and it was nothing short of magical! This may be our new favorite holiday season! Whatβs your favorite time to visit??
I love both but if I had to choose just one it would be the holidays at Disney World. Not just MVMCP, but all of the decorations around all of the parks & resorts at WDW and the Festival of the Holidays makes it such a great time with lots to do!
The weather is also usually great starting in November and into December in Orlando while MNSSHP season can still be quite hot.

I do hope to experience the Festival of the Holidays at Epcot one day! Would love to hear all of the stories around the world and see the Candlelight Processional!
Getting to see both during the same trip, like the OP, sounds fun! I love the decor and the feeling during the Christmas season. Even if not doing the MNSSHP and MVMCP. The weather can be really nice that time of year.
Have fun, and "See Ya Real Soon!"

I lean heavy toward Christmas. Love the resorts during the holiday season, walking down Main Street to the holiday music... and of course... ALL THE SNACKS!
I love how the parks and resorts are decorated for Halloween and Christmas. Itβs hard to choose but I definitely enjoy the cooler weather in December.

Christmas time. Preferably right after Thanksgiving so you get all the decorations but less of the crowds. We have done MK on Christmas day and it was a mad house.
This is a toss up. I love all the holiday decorations at Christmas time but MNSSHP is my favorite.
Weβre talking about next year doing the end of October-beginning of November to hit both of them! And by βweβ I really mean me. Luckily for me, the fam just goes with the flow.

We went over fall break this year, but I prefer the Christmas holidays. We typically go around Thanksgiving and Iβve always enjoyed the International Festival of the Holidays. The candlelight processional is not to be missed. There are just so many little things that you can walk around and enjoy and get in the spirt.
As much as I love the paid holiday parties, it means you miss out unless you pay.. which hasn't always been the case. I've done MNSSHP twice but never the Chrismas one at MK, plan to do that this year.
However, to really answer your question, I actually think that Christmas at the resorts, especailly at the monorail resorts is my favorite.

I'm looking forward to experiencing more of the resorts now that weβre DVC. Hoping to spend our time a little differently than our prior trips since we know weβll be back frequently now.
I also understand what you mean about the paid parties. We donβt use a park ticket on those days and itβs basically the same amount of money for about the same amount of time. Christmas is by far the superior party of us. Hope you can make one soon!

Good recommendation! We go mid November and while the crowds are great, we miss out on Epcot being decorated!
The past fall we were there over the Halloween to Christmas transition for the first time which is really fun. We were at the Oct 30 Halloween party and as we left they funneled us through a backstage area. Walking through you could see all of the Christmas decorations and cherry pickers staged and ready which for some reason gave me such a kick. What can I say, I'm a Disney nerd π.
Still, while I adore Halloween, Christmas will always win for me - we like the first week or two of December for lower crowds and points. Thankfully we often get to do both!

Ya Epcot one year started the festival on Monday of Thanksgiving week, but went back to Black Friday. We typically go Tuesday through Tuesday around Thanksgiving week. We notice the crowds start to drop off by Sunday, but trying to get a DVC room for that time can be hard with all the walkers.
